A one-day Workshop Cum Hands-on Training on “Health Assessment Module” was organized by the School of Nursing, SGT University on 15th May 2026 at the Auditorium, Radhakrishnan Block (C Block) under the Holistic Care Club in collaboration with FMHS & NSRC.

The academic sessions were conducted by esteemed resource persons:
• Dr. Darakshan Saiyadain, Assistant Professor, Department of PSM, FMHS, SGT University, who delivered an insightful session on Introduction, Purpose, Process, and Techniques of Health Assessment.
• Dr. Ujjwal, Assistant Professor, Department of General Medicine, FMHS, SGT University, who conducted an enriching session on Physical Examination, System-wise Assessment, and Documentation of Health Assessment.

The workshop provided participants with valuable theoretical knowledge, enhanced clinical understanding, and strengthened assessment competencies essential for holistic patient care.

The event concluded with Hands-on Simulation Sessions conducted at NSRC, where participants gained practical exposure and experiential learning in health assessment techniques and patient examination skills.

Day 6 of the International Nurses Week Celebration 2026 at the School of Nursing, SGT University concluded on a vibrant and memorable note with the Cultural Evening and Valedictory Ceremony held on 12th May 2026 at the Shooting Floor, Rabindranath Tagore Block.
Celebrated under the inspiring theme “Our Nurses, Our Future – Empowered Nurses Save Lives”, the event witnessed enthusiastic participation from students, faculty members, and dignitaries, reflecting the true spirit of the nursing fraternity.
The evening commenced with a spectacular Fashion Show portraying the evolution and rich history of nursing. Students confidently represented different nursing eras, beautifully showcasing the transformation of nursing uniforms, responsibilities, and contributions through time.
The celebration further came alive with energetic dance performances, soulful presentations, and heartfelt poetry dedicated to the compassion, resilience, and dedication of nurses.
A highlight of the evening was the Award Distribution Ceremony, where students and faculty members were recognized for their outstanding achievements, academic excellence, sports participation, and valuable contributions throughout the International Nurses Week celebrations. ✨ Lamp Lighting Ceremony 2026 ✨

On 11 May 2026, the School of Nursing, SGT University, proudly organized the Lamp Lighting Ceremony for the 11th Batch of B.Sc. Nursing students. The ceremony marked the beginning of a meaningful journey into the noble profession of nursing, filled with compassion, dedication, and service to humanity.

The programme commenced with the traditional tribute to Florence Nightingale, followed by the ceremonial lamp lighting symbolizing knowledge, care, and hope. The event inspired students to uphold the values of professionalism, ethics, and empathy in their future nursing practice.

The Chief Guest, Col. Keka Chatterjee, delivered an inspiring address encouraging students to serve humanity with compassion, competence, and commitment.

A two-day National Eye Bank Visit on 7th and 8th May 2026 at the Dr. Rajendra Prasad Centre for Ophthalmic Sciences, All India Institute of Medical Sciences, New Delhi successfully organised by the School of Nursing, Department of Medical-Surgical Nursing/AHN, SGT University, Gurugram.
The visit aimed to provide nursing students with comprehensive knowledge about the role and functioning of eye banks, the eye donation process, and corneal transplantation.
During the two-day visit, 100 students of B.Sc. Nursing 4th Sem. Observed various techniques, infection control measures, and procedures involved in eye banking. They gained valuable insights into the ethical and legal aspects of eye donation and understood the crucial role of nurses in patient education, counselling, and community awareness.
This enriching experience strengthened their clinical understanding and enhanced their practical exposure. It also fostered empathy, social responsibility, and a positive attitude towards promoting eye donation and restoring vision among the visually impaired.

Day 3 of the International Nurses Week Celebration 2026 at the School of Nursing, SGT University, was organized on 8th May 2026 under the theme “Our Nurses, Our Future – Empowered Nurses Save Lives.”

The celebration featured simultaneous activities for faculty members and students at different venues across the campus. While faculty members participated in wellness and recreational sessions including Yoga & Mindfulness-Based Relaxation by Dr. Palak Khargonkar (Faculty of Naturopathy & Yogic Sciences, SGT University) and a Nutrition Wellness Session by Dt. Aaysha from SGT Hospital, students enthusiastically engaged in sports competitions and an exciting treasure hunt.

Sports events included Carrom, Chess, Table Tennis, Volleyball, 100m and 200m races, while recreational activities such as Face Painting, Memory Walk, and Compatibility Test added fun, creativity, and team spirit to the celebration. The day successfully promoted fitness, stress management, teamwork, and holistic well-being among faculty members and students.

Day 2 of the Nurses Week Celebration at the School of Nursing, SGT University featured the Nurses Olympiad (Clinical Edition) based on the theme “Our Nurses, Our Future – Empowered Nurses Save Lives” on 7th May 2026 at the Nursing Foundation Lab and Room No. 111 & 113, D Block, from 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM.
The event aimed to enhance clinical knowledge, practical skills, critical thinking, teamwork, and confidence among nursing students through interactive and skill-based learning activities. Various competitions and games including Identify Disease from Songs, Identify Symptoms from Emojis, Nurses Dumb Charades, Bed Making Competition, Instrument Identification (Blind Touch Activity), and Syringe Shoot Game were conducted in three rounds with enthusiastic student participation.
The event successfully promoted experiential learning and professional skill development, and was highly appreciated by both faculty and students for its innovative, engaging, and competency-based approach.

Day 1- International Nurses Week Celebration 2026
It begans with great enthusiasm at the School of Nursing, SGT University, Gurugram, on 6th May 2026, based on the theme “Our Nurses. Our Future. Empowered Nurses Save Lives.”

The day commenced with a brief introduction and a lamp lighting ceremony, symbolizing the lifelong commitment and compassion of the nursing profession. Motivational addresses by respected dignitaries inspired students to serve with dedication and empathy.

Students also showcased creative audio-visual aids, while the “Corridor of Gratitude” reflected appreciation towards nurses through meaningful slogans and messages. The celebration concluded with “Nursing Through Time – Memory Gullak,” where faculty members shared their experiences and values, making the event a memorable and timeless tribute to nursing.

Day 2 of Two-Day Hands-on Workshop on “Rapid Response Training for Life-Threatening Maternal Complications”
Day 2 of the two-day hands-on workshop on “Rapid Response Training for Life-Threatening Maternal Complications” was conducted on 29th April 2026 by the Pflege Club, Department of Obstetrical and Gynaecological Nursing, School of Nursing, in collaboration with the National Reference Simulation Centre (NRSC), SGT University, Gurugram, continuing the momentum of intensive learning and skill enhancement.
The day began with a recapitulation session, reinforcing the key concepts and critical interventions covered on Day 1. This was followed by continued simulation-based hands-on training sessions, with special emphasis on Newborn Resuscitation and advanced management of Eclampsia.
Participants were actively engaged in high-fidelity simulated clinical scenarios, which further strengthened their practical skills, clinical decision-making abilities, confidence, and preparedness in managing both maternal and neonatal emergencies effectively.
A post-OSCE and post-test were conducted to evaluate the knowledge gained and competencies developed during the workshop, reflecting the overall learning outcomes of the participants.

Skill Enhancement and Capacity Building Program under the theme of “Comprehensive Geriatric Care Management for Community Healthcare Workers" on 30th April 2026 at PHC Daultabad organized by the Department of Community Health Nursing, School of Nursing, SGT University.
The program aimed to strengthen the knowledge and practical skills of healthcare providers in delivering holistic and compassionate care to the elderly population. A total of 8 participants (B.Sc. Nursing 8th Semester students) actively conducted the session, benefiting 10 healthcare workers, including ASHA and ANM staff. The event was highly interactive and engaging, utilizing various teaching methods such as lectures, demonstrations, and hands-on training to ensure effective learning. Key highlights included sessions on early identification of geriatric health issues, management of chronic diseases, mental health support, promotion of healthy ageing, and improvement of home-based care practices. Participants showed great enthusiasm and appreciated the relevance and practical approach of the training. Overall, the program received positive feedback and proved to be a meaningful step towards improving geriatric care services at the community level.

Day 2 of the Two-Day Hands-on Training Workshop titled “From Bed to Independence: Skills in Mobility and Immobility Care” on 28th April 2026 at S. Radhakrishnan Block (C-Block) successfully conducted by the Department of Medical Surgical Nursing, School of Nursing, SGT University, in collaboration with the School of Physiotherapy.

The day began with a briefing and recapitulation of previous sessions. Expert sessions focused on range of motion exercises, muscle strengthening, and safe techniques for moving, lifting, transferring, and assisting patients with mobility devices. Participants also gained insights into the care of immobility, casts, and splints.

A session on the nurse’s role in maintaining patient mobility and preventing complications highlighted the importance of proactive nursing interventions in patient care.

The hands-on training session was a key highlight, enabling students to practice and refine essential clinical skills under expert supervision.

The workshop concluded with a vote of thanks, marking the successful completion of an enriching learning experience.
