Celebrating India’s Mathematical Heritage 🇮🇳

K-IIT College of Education, Gurugram, through its भारतीय गणित विरासत मंच, organised a special online lecture on “India’s Gift to the World in the Field of Mathematics” on 15 September 2026.

The भारतीय गणित विरासत मंच, an academic initiative of the College dedicated to promoting and integrating Vedic Mathematics and India’s rich mathematical heritage into contemporary education, provided a meaningful platform for exploring the timeless contributions of Indian mathematical thought.

The insightful session was delivered by Mr. Sayantan Roy, DDPI & OSD (CS Branch), Department of Higher Education, Government of West Bengal and UGC Master Trainer (IKS). His engaging presentation explored India’s contributions to mathematics, including ancient number systems, the concept of large numbers, mathematical constants, and diverse approaches to representing numbers.

The lecture beautifully highlighted the relevance of India’s mathematical wisdom in fostering logical reasoning, analytical thinking, creativity, problem-solving and innovative learning. It also encouraged participants to view mathematics through the lens of India’s knowledge traditions and appreciate its continuing relevance in the modern world.

The session was enriched by the enthusiastic participation of faculty members and students.

🇮🇳 Independence Day Celebrations at KIIT College of Education 🇮🇳

KIIT Group of Colleges celebrated Independence Day with great patriotic fervour and enthusiasm. The programme was graced by Chief Guest Colonel Sant Pal Raghav ji and distinguished guests Advocate Seema Tomar ji, Founder, Saath Chale Foundation; Mrs. Sushma ji from Dainik Jagran; and Mr. Subhash Raghav ji.

The celebration featured a vibrant cultural programme presented by the students, showcasing the rich heritage, creativity and patriotic spirit of India. 🇮🇳✨

A special highlight of the occasion was the Raksha Sutra celebration by Dainik Jagran, during which the faculty members and students tied Rakhi to Colonel Sant Pal Raghav ji as a heartfelt expression of gratitude and respect for the brave soldiers who protect our nation. The gesture beautifully symbolised the bond between the nation’s youth and its protectors. 🙏🇮🇳

Dr. S. S. Aggarwal, Director General, KIIT Group, and Dr. Neelima Kamrah, Registrar, addressed the gathering and inspired the young generation to recognise their responsibilities towards the nation and carry forward the glorious legacy of India with pride, integrity and commitment.
In his inspiring address, Colonel Sant Pal Raghav ji narrated the history of the wars fought by India with Pakistan and China since Independence, reminding the students of the extraordinary courage, valour and sacrifices of our soldiers who have safeguarded the nation.

The celebration was a meaningful tribute to our bravehearts and a powerful reminder that freedom comes with the responsibility to build a stronger, united and progressive India.
