Never in human history has the pace of change been as fast as it been in the last one generation. This is true for practically every field of human endeavor and especially so for Education. Methods of imparting education and the educational content itself that we grew up with and, took for granted, have changed drastically. Following the old rote based pattern of education today with our kids will

, leave them hopelessly outpaced in a world that is getting fiercely competitive by the day. While we need to ensure that our children do not lag in this competitive era – we need to be careful at the same time, that they do not become pawns in a rat race - always running in order to stand still. This can be achieved only when Education is imparted in a wholesome, fun way – such that the child looks forward to the learning with enthusiasm and eagerness. When this happens, Education is not felt as a burden but a means to get rejuvenated and fascinated with knowledge. The idea for Smart Class started with my own need as a parent to fill a gap that schools couldn’t and on not finding an alternative elsewhere either. Our classes are conceived as a means to inculcate a ‘Love of Learning’ in the child so as to make her a self-starter for life – we teach the child to be able to teach herself. Once that happens, we as parents will have a lot less to worry about ! We believe that proficiency in Math & English is vital for success in any career – we pay special attention to these and make them the prime focus of our classes. At the same time, as and when required, we occasionally supplement them with subjects like Hindi in order to assist with academic requirements that students inevitably have with their school curriculum. In addition to above, we regularly introduce our students to a ‘Smart Topic’ – this can be the biography of a great personality like Einstein, Extinction of Dinosaurs, the Big Bang theory and similar themes. Infotainment on these topics is given through a short documentary, You tube videos and printed handouts. We believe in continually updating and improving our knowledge base and also the tools and techniques for imparting education so as to constantly engage our students in new and interesting ways. We actively make use of technology in order to optimally impart our lessons. These include a mix of Audio-Video content on a 300-inch projector, online course subscriptions, carefully selected educational videos and of course, printed handouts. Occasionally, we also organize Parties, Picnics and Movie sessions for our children to have a fun day break and also to hone their social skills. The key to our success is the understanding that every child is unique and needs a highly customized approach suited to individual personality and psychology. This gives us the best results towards making children realize their true potential.
