Shri Vishwakarma Skill University (SVSU), university's current name, is amended from its earlier name of The Haryana Vishwakarma Skill University. The name change came in effect on October 02, 2018 and was published in Haryana Government Gazette (Extra) of October 22, 2018 (ASVN. 30. 1940 SAKA) by way of an Act known as The
Haryana Vishwakarma Skill University (Amendment) Act, 2018. The university

has been enacted by the legislature of the state of Haryana with an objective to establish a skill university in order to facilitate and promote skill, entrepreneurship development, skill based education and research in the emerging areas of manufacturing, textile, design, logistics and transportation, automation, maintenance, etc. The university offers certificate to doctoral level programmes and has developed Operating Model Framework for deploying Industry Integrated Dual EducationModel for various NSQF level under “Earn While Learn” programmes for the aspiring youth.
