greenbandhu GreenBandhu is a group of committed environment-friendly professionals working in developing and promoting innovative solutions for waste management.

GreenBandhu prides itself as one of the leaders in solid-waste management sector. We provide innovative technologies and solutions to our clients allowing them to manage their solid-waste in a de-centralized manner. India generates tons of solid-waste each day, which in most cases gets disposed-off in a non-environment friendly manner. Different authorities and agencies working in solid-waste mana

gement in India have pointed out that bulk of solid-waste, approximately 65/75 per cent generated, is organic waste which can be conveniently managed by composting organic waste into manure. The awareness levels among people on the subject of solid-waste management has been progressing but at snail’s pace. Many communities, corporates and institutions have taken up solid-waste segregation at source to better manage the solid-waste they generate. The collection of dry waste has been followed by many around the country. Unfortunately they have not been able to implement solutions for managing wet or organic waste. Indiscriminate dumping of wet or organic waste causes unhygienic and unsanitary conditions, leading to spread of diseases. It also pollutes the land, water and air. GreenBandhu has been working in the field of solid-waste management for the last five years, specializing in de-centralized solid-waste management. Our expertise is in providing technologies and processes that facilitates in source-segregation and enables conversion of wet waste/organic waste/bio-degradable waste into compost/organic manure in-situ. We work with several schools, colleges, communities, corporates etc. in various cities across India. Currently, we have GreenBandhu's presence in Delhi, Gurgaon, Noida, Faridabad, Ghaziabad, Baroda, Bangalore, Chennai, Hyderabad, Mumbai, Pune, Patna, Karjat, Guntur, etc.

People need to be reminded of the “real significance of soil in our lives“. Have being passionately working on this subject since 2008, being quite successful in doing so sustainably. Soil besides water & air is one of the largest living things on planet Earth, but we humans don’t quite understand it, recognise it, acknowledge it. It is also our source of energy & food. It isn’t just enough to say “save the soil” , we need to also continuously “grow the soil”, just how we harvest the rain to “replenish” aquifers beneath the surface/ground, and, grow trees to “replenish” oxygen in the atmosphere so that life sustains on planet Earth, we need to grow soil to “replenish” our soil ecosystem. By converting our organic matter (such as food waste) into compost, further into soil, further into food, we are not only helping our soil ecosystem to become healthy, but also creating a “circular ecosystem & circular economy” in true sense. Unfortunately, the world leaders including the corporate world are more interested in creating a “plastic & plastic waste” economy which they try to justify as circular economy through of course lobbying & money but in no way it’s a circular economy or supports circular ecosystem. Barren , unused lands , urban lands , peri-urban lands should be transformed into food forest through food-waste management (horticulture waste management) by implementing the “C.R.U.I.S.E” model (circular rural urban integrated sustainable ecosystem) by utilising “rural land”, and “urban waste” thereby helping to minimise pollution (soil, water, air) & produce clean, organic, natural food for all. There cannot be any better example of circular ecosystem, circular economy. Soil isn’t dirt or dust, it’s as important as air & water.

Govt. of Haryana & MCG are endangering the lives of people living and working in Gurgaon by not implementing Solid Waste Management Rules 2016.

Thanks to senior journalists like Poonam Shankar Pandey for her bold , “to the point” journalism.

Why source segregation is absolutely necessary. No ifs & buts. No workarounds possible. Each waste generator has to segregate at their own level, and by themselves.
From 2014 till today (2025), govt. has spent millions of rupees - audited/unaudited, accounted/unaccounted; nominated SBM ambassadors, organised many events, etc. but they have not supported the real people such as the one speaking in this video. These individuals are still doing this work because of hope, that one day the nation, govt., society will wake up, and own up their responsibilities. With the hope that one day they will become SBM ambassadors, and leaders, and trainers for others & next generations. If there can be role models in politics, businesses, sports, entertainment/bollywood, then why can’t there be ambassadors, leaders, role models, trainers in waste management?! If ex-bollywood personalities can start their production house or create film studios; ex-sportsmen can create training centres & schools; ex-corporate person can create centres for excellence..then, why can’t individuals in waste management. Why can’t the govt., local administration help these individuals, the one who is speaking in this video, and doing the work. Financial aid, loans, etc. for such initiatives?! Can’t that be possible?! Don’t we need trained manpower for waste management from nextgens? There is no such thinking, planning, budget, intent, interest, willingness..nothing! Just by saying waste to wealth, zero waste, kachre se kanchan, etc. things don’t happen. One has to think, plan, execute.
I have done 17 years of work but this work is absolutely useless, and it’s true for many like me, because the govt., and administration of the day don’t seem to take this responsibility seriously to support & facilitate existing workforce for the generations to come. Govt., administration are supposed to plan, implement & facilitate, not issue a diktat, or design business models to make money for the politicians..
