Seva Sankalp Abhiyan | Serving the Community Through Eye Care On the occasion of the 76th birthday of our Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Ji, the Department of Optometry and Vision Sciences, Amity Medical School, Amity University Haryana, organised a two-day Eye Screening Camp under the Seva Sankalp Abhiyan. The initiative focused not only on routine vision screening but also on providing specialised eye-care services, including visual acuity and refractive error assessment, binocular vision evaluation for identifying binocular vision anomalies, dry eye screening, and basic anterior segment evaluation, for university students, young children, and members of the nearby community. The camp also provided our student optometrists with valuable hands-on clinical experience, enabling them to apply their classroom knowledge in real-world settings while developing skills in clinical assessment, patient interaction, counselling, decision-making, and referral. Such initiatives reinforce the importance of preventive eye care, early detection, accessible community-based vision services, and the role of optometry in promoting public eye health. A sincere appreciation to our faculty members, student optometrists, volunteers, and everyone who contributed to making this initiative a meaningful experience of Seva, learning, and community engagement.
