Sushant University Hosts Rounds 5–7 of MCI 2026: The Championship
The School of Law, Sushant University, successfully conducted Rounds 5 to 7 of ‘MCI 2026: The Championship’ - the PACT–Cyril Amarchand Mangaldas National Mediation Championship as Chief Institutional Partner, on 19 September 2026.
Teams from across the country came together for closely contested mediation rounds, adjudicated by experienced mediators and legal professionals. The event reaffirmed Sushant University's growing role in advancing India's mediation and alternate dispute resolution (ADR) ecosystem, in collaboration with Cyril Amarchand Mangaldas and PACT.
The School of Law thanks the organisers, judges, mentors and participating teams for making the rounds a resounding success.

A Busy Few Days for the School of Law
Within a span of just two days, the School of Law, Sushant University, hosted Rounds 5-7 of the PACT–Cyril Amarchand Mangaldas National Mediation Championship 2026 as Chief Institutional Partner on 19 September, followed by a guest lecture on "AI and Autonomous Weapon Systems: Law, Ethics and Global Governance in an Age of Intelligent Conflict" by Prof. Sanoj Rajan on 21 September.
From dispute resolution to the frontiers of technology, security and international law, the two engagements reflect the range of conversations students at the School of Law get to be part of — bringing practitioners, scholars and peers together across some of the most pressing questions in law today.

Guest Lecture | AI and Autonomous Weapon Systems
The School of Law, Sushant University organised a highly engaging and interactive guest lecture on "AI and Autonomous Weapon Systems: Law, Ethics and Global Governance in an Age of Intelligent Conflict" on 21 September 2026.
The session was delivered by Prof. Sanoj Rajan - Distinguished Professor, ZGJSU, Hangzhou, China; Visiting Professor, Soochow University, Taipei, Taiwan; and Rotary Peace Fellow, International Christian University, Tokyo. The lecture drew a full house of enthusiastic students and faculty members, who engaged closely with Prof. Rajan's exploration of the legal, ethical and governance questions raised by autonomous weapon systems including the critical question of accountability when AI-driven decisions go wrong on the battlefield.
The session was marked by an active exchange of ideas, with students posing thoughtful questions on responsibility, regulation and the future of warfare in an AI-driven world, making for a truly interactive and thought-provoking learning experience.
The event concluded with an exchange of books and a token of appreciation to Prof. Rajan, coordinated by Ms. Yogita Ambavta.
