BML Munjal University (BMU) is a fully residential, co-educational university which aims to present an exciting alternative to the traditional university model. Named after the Hero Group co-founder and chairman, Brij Mohan Lall Munjal, BMU will be engaged in creating, preserving and imparting internationally-benchmarked knowledge and skills to a diverse community of students from across the world

. The University will create an innovative and stimulating teaching-learning environment for transforming students into well-rounded, industry-ready individuals. The School of Engineering & Technology, School of Management and School of Commerce will be established in Phase I, in 2014. Four additional schools are proposed to be added in Phase II:
School of Liberal Arts
School of Art, Architecture & Design
School of Natural Sciences
School of Law

Through innovative instruction, applied research, and best-in-class academic and industry partnerships, the University will create an empowered teaching-learning environment for interdisciplinary, transformational, and holistic learning. Hands-on learning will be a hallmark of all degrees offered in the University. Students will have the flexibility of choosing electives from other schools. Further, industry liaisons will enable the students to get a practical education based in current practice. Imperial College London will mentor the School of Management and play an active role in co-designing the curriculum and content, facilitate student and faculty development programmes, conduct joint research activities and establish the latest teaching platforms. Significantly, 25 BMU BTech students will have the opportunity to undertake a one-year MSc programme at the Imperial College Business School.There will also be opportunities to join innovation camps and pursue credit-based courses in London. BMU will also establish industry-promoted Centres of Excellence on campus, where students will be exposed to the latest technologies, real-life projects and hands-on learning. The first such centre is being set up in partnership with Siemens PLM Software. The campus is located at 67 KM Stone, District Gurgaon, Haryana on the Delhi-Jaipur highway (NH-8), about 50 kms from the Delhi international airport. Website

Meaningful learning often begins when students engage with real problems, perspectives, and possibilities beyond the classroom.

UDAAN: Idea to Impact, a 2-day entrepreneurship bootcamp at BML Munjal University, created an immersive space for students to explore what it takes to turn an idea into something with purpose.

Supported by Aavishkaar Foundation and jointly implemented by the Institute of Innovation And Entrepreneurship (I2E)-BML Munjal University (I2E), and ACIC-BMU Foundation, the programme brought together design thinking, mentorship, problem discovery, validation, solution building, and venture pitching.

An industry immersion at Hero MotoCorp’s Dharuhera Plant further connected entrepreneurial learning with real-world industry practices.

Through initiatives like UDAAN, BMU continues to create opportunities for students to learn through experience, collaborate with industry, and take ideas towards meaningful impact.

For Charvi and Zavi, those answers are already beginning to take form, in the confidence they want to build, the skills they want to develop, the experiences they want to pursue, and the ideas they hope to turn into something real.

Maybe that’s what a Major in Life begins with, knowing what you want to explore, while staying open to where the journey takes you.

What makes a university feel like the right place?

For Shrey Jaiswal (B.Tech CSE, 2023), it was the combination of people, possibilities, and the freedom to explore beyond his course. From finding himself surrounded by students from management and liberal arts to exploring AI and emerging technologies, his time at BMU gave him a broader view of what a technology education could look like.

His journey also took him into student leadership, where clubs, events, and speaking in front of a crowd became opportunities to build confidence beyond the classroom.

Because a B.Tech journey can be about more than becoming a technologist. It can also be about becoming the person you want to be.
