Department of Civil & Environmental Engineering, ITM University, Gurgaon formally launched ASCE – student Chapter on 20thFebruary, 2015. The inauguration function was initiated by lightening of lamp by
Prof. Prem Vrat (Pro-Chancellor & Chief Mentor of ITM University),
Mr. Arif Siddiqui (Secretary, ASCE – India Section, Northern region),
Dr. Amit Srivastava (Treasurer, ASCE – India Section, Nort

hern region and Associate Professor, Civil & Environmental Engineering, ITM University),
Prof. Ghoshal (Professor and Head of Department, Civil & Environmental Engineering, ITM University,) and
Prof. Krishnamoorthi (Emeritus Fellow, Civil & Environmental Engineering, ITM University). It is believed that ASCE – student chapter will provide a unique opportunity to students learning more about civil engineering profession through participation as members of Student Chapters. Working in a team and providing professional autonomy will help students to mature more rapidly. Organization of events, such as, workshops, seminars, conferences, expert lectures, and industrial visits, technical & non-technical events will enhance their skills and instill other graduate attributes. The chapter will give a unique opportunity for collaborating with other professional societies and chapters active in other institutions and organization for achieving excellence and expanding knowledge. It will thrive to fill the gap between industry and academic and for the overall development of the society and human being.
