Honouring the Legacy of Cherished Teachers @ USTM

Marking Teachers’ Day 2026, the Department of Zoology, USTM, dedicated a laboratory and smart classroom in memory of the late Prof. Kamal Choudhury and the late Prof. Karobi Saikia, honouring their invaluable contributions to the department’s growth and development.

The ceremony was attended by the Hon’ble Vice-Chancellor and Registrar of USTM, family members of the two professors, faculty members, research scholars, students and well-wishers. Speakers fondly recalled their guidance, dedication to teaching and commitment to nurturing generations of students.

The dedicated spaces stand as a heartfelt tribute to two cherished teachers whose values and contributions continue to inspire the USTM community.

Today, Teachers’ Day was celebrated with great enthusiasm across various departments at USTM, as students came together to honour and appreciate their teachers for their invaluable contribution to their academic and personal journeys.

The celebrations reflected the special bond between teachers and students, with departments organising a variety of activities including cultural performances, music, dance, games, interactive sessions, creative presentations and heartfelt messages of gratitude.
