**CROSS CULTURAL LEARNING **
The Internationalisation Wing of Arya Vidyapeeth College just wrapped up a 6-week global cross-cultural collaboration project, “Global Teams, Local Flavors: Branding Beyond Borders,” helmed by Uma Global in collaboration with academic partners in Assam (India), Ukraine, and the United States.
Huge thanks to the students and faculty of all partner institutions: Baruch College, The City University of New York, with special thanks to Minna Logemann as our initial partner who co-lead the November 2025 pilot; Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv, Ukraine, with so much gratitude to Olga Yashenkova and Anastasiia Pozhar; and even Darrang College. Thanks as well to guest speaker Eva Alfoldi of the University of Delaware.
For this cohort, a total of 84 students (23 from Arya Vidyapeeth College) worked in 10 virtual teams, with professors based across locations spanning up to 6 time zones, navigating three daylight saving time changes, and students collaborating up to 10.5 hours apart. It demanded real-world skills: resilience, timekeeping, reliability, adapting to different communication styles and cultural awareness, uneven access to power and internet, and, for some, continuing to work and learn amid the realities of a live war. In every sense, it mirrored real life.
From branding to sustainability, and from wider global questions to case study work relevant to Assamese students, including work opportunity, and regional development, the final presentations showed thoughtful teamwork, insight, and commitment throughout.
