65 recruiter registrations, 1,158 candidate registrations, one big platform connecting academic talent with industry opportunity, that was the story of Gauhati University Job Fair 2026! 🎓

The inaugural session was attended by Vice Chancellor Prof. Nani Gopal Mahanta; Chief Guest Mr. Hemanta Bayan (Vice President, Retail Branch Banking, HDFC Bank); Distinguished Guest Ms. Olee Bora (General Manager, NEDFi); Registrar Prof. Utpal Sarma; Chairman of the Job Fair Committee Prof. Pranjal Baruah; and Convener Dr. Samir Sarkar, along with distinguished representatives from industry, faculty and eager candidates.

Spanning banking and financial services, information technology, telecommunications, digital services, healthcare, education, microfinance, BPO, sales and allied industries, the fair had participation from HDFC Bank, Axis Bank, Tech Mahindra, Paytm, Reliance Jio, HDB Financial Services, Ujjivan Small Finance Bank, Arohan Financial Services, Justdial and Aditya Birla Sun Life Insurance, among others.

Designed as a working recruitment platform rather than a mere exhibition, the day was filled with company presentations, resume screening, assessments, interviews, group discussions and shortlisting, turning knowledge into livelihood, competence into career, and aspiration into opportunity.

🚨 NOTICE | Beware of Fake Social Media Handles

Gauhati University has observed that some individuals are creating fake and misleading social media pages that closely resemble the University’s official handles. Such pages can mislead students, faculty, staff, parents and the public by circulating unauthorised or false information.

A large number of students rely on the University’s official social media handles for important updates on admissions, examinations, academic activities and notices. Everyone is therefore urged to follow, trust and share information only from the University’s official handles.

Gauhati University also urges the Cyber Crime Unit of Assam Police to look into such misleading accounts and take appropriate action against those responsible.

Please verify the source before acting on or sharing any communication claiming to be from Gauhati University.

NCC Enrollment Day held at Gauhati University on 8th August, 2026, with students participating in enrollment, verification and physical fitness activities as they stepped forward to join the NCC.

The process was conducted under the guidance of Flying Officer Dr. Hemen Kumar Kalita, ANO, with senior cadets CDT Pankaj, CDT Debasish, CDT Nikita, CDT Rimanka, CDT Barasha and CDT Monosmita assisting in coordinating and managing the enrollment.

Students who opted for the NCC Value Added Course (VAC) in their first semester also participated, with three students selected for NCC. Their selection marks the beginning of a journey centred on discipline, leadership, teamwork, responsibility and service.

The Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering, Gauhati University invites applications for admission to its M.Tech. programmes for the academic session 2026–27 through valid GATE scores.

Programmes offered:
• Advanced Communication and Information System (ACIS)
• VLSI and Microelectronics (VM)

Eligibility:
Candidates must hold a Bachelor’s degree (B.E./B.Tech. or equivalent) in a relevant discipline or an M.Sc. in Electronics, Physics or Instrumentation. Applicants must have a valid GATE score in Electronics and Communication Engineering (EC), Electrical Engineering (EE), Instrumentation Engineering (IN) or Physics (PH).
