🇮🇳 My first NCC camp experience at Gopalganj, Assam, under 7 Assam BN NCC from 5th March to 14th March 2026, was truly memorable and enriching. Staying in a camp environment for the first time, living in tents with fellow cadets, and following a disciplined routine taught me the values of teamwork, friendship, unity, and responsibility. ⛺✨

The camp included early morning PT sessions, theory and practical training classes, and various activities that improved both physical fitness and confidence. One of the most exciting moments was the firing session, where I got the opportunity to handle and fire a .22 rifle under supervision. 🎯

Evening NCC songs, group activities, and interactions with cadets from different colleges created unforgettable memories and strengthened the spirit of discipline and camaraderie. Overall, the camp became a valuable journey of learning, growth, leadership, and self-confidence that I will always cherish. 🌟

🏗️ As a Civil Engineering student at Assam Don Bosco University, my internship journey taught me that real engineering begins when theory meets practical challenges. From working on a tunnel construction project in difficult hilly terrain to understanding landslide protection and slope stabilization techniques such as bench cutting, SDR bolting, grouting, and shotcreting, every experience became a valuable learning opportunity. ⛰️⚒️

I also gained exposure to tunnel blasting operations, site safety practices, documentation, reporting, and team coordination, which helped me understand the importance of communication, leadership, and decision-making in engineering projects. 📋👷

These experiences strengthened my confidence and practical knowledge, ultimately helping me secure my first job offer from Onycon Infrastructure as a Junior Civil Engineer for the Manipur project in Noney, Manipur. 🌟

My journey taught me that a successful engineer is not defined only by technical knowledge, but also by adaptability, responsibility, safety awareness, and the ability to perform under pressure. To all juniors — make the most of your internships, keep learning on-site, and never hesitate to ask questions, because practical exposure truly shapes your future. 🚧✨

The Industry–Academia Meet 2026, organised by the Industry Institute Partnership Cell in collaboration with the Training and Placement Cell, provided an enriching platform to connect academic learning with industry practices, with the Civil Engineering Department expert session focusing on real-world exposure, sustainable practices, professional motivation, and entrepreneurial thinking. Held on 30th April 2026 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 noon in Room No. 254, the session witnessed active participation from a large number of students and was conducted as an engaging expert talk for the department. The session was addressed by Mr. Partha Pratim Pathak, Managing Director of Fresh Air Waste Management Services Pvt. Ltd., the founder of Fresh Air Group with over 20 years of experience in sustainable waste management and eco-tourism, and a leading entrepreneur associated with biomedical waste treatment, circular economy practices, plastic waste recycling, environmental innovation, and responsible eco-tourism through initiatives such as Fresh Air Waste Management Services Pvt. Ltd., Forcetech, and Tiger Camp Kaziranga. During the talk, Mr. Pathak shared his professional journey, highlighting how he moved beyond the comfort of a stable and well-paying job to pursue a more meaningful entrepreneurial path driven by ideas, passion, and long-term vision. He explained the importance of proper biomedical waste treatment, disposal, and recycling, and discussed its significant impact on public health, environmental protection, and sustainable development. Using real-life examples from his own entrepreneurial journey, he illustrated how an idea can be transformed into a successful venture, while also speaking about the initial challenges, decision-making processes, responsible industry practices, and the courage required to build a business from scratch. The session concluded with an interactive question-and-answer segment in which students raised thoughtful questions, including queries on the by-products of biomedical waste and his decision to leave a well-paying job, to which he responded with practical insights on waste management, passion, personal satisfaction, persistence, and long-term vision. With due acknowledgement to the efforts of the organising Industry Institute Partnership Cell and Training and Placement Cell, the Civil Engineering Department session proved to be informative, motivating, and impactful, inspiring students to look beyond textbooks and prepare themselves for future industry challenges with confidence, creativity, and social responsibility.
