ME CLUB HIT, Haldia (2026)

The Inter-Department Volleyball Tournament concluded on June 6th with the ultimate showdown between Team ME and Team EE. Winning the toss, Team ME opted to begin the match on the court.

Team EE initiated the first serve in the opening set. Nevertheless, Team ME promptly gained command of the game, as Shivshankar skillfully scored the team's first point with an impressive smash. Demonstrating remarkable teamwork and talent, Team ME sustained its dominance throughout the first set. With a consistently strong performance, they comfortably secured a win with a score of 25-14.

Transitioning to the second set, it was Team ME's turn to serve. However, Team EE successfully earned the first point, signaling a more closely contested match. Both teams showcased immense determination and engaged in an intense battle. The second set remained highly competitive, with each team exchanging points. In the end, Team EE narrowly outperformed Team ME, securing the set with a slim margin of 26-24.

Proceeding to the third and decisive set, Team EE resumed their first service. They swiftly earned the initial point, showcasing their resolve to stage a comeback. However, Team ME promptly regained momentum and asserted their dominance. With stellar contributions from the entire team, Team ME effectively displayed their abilities and emerged victorious in the third set, concluding with a score of 25-19.

Team ME emerged victorious, winning the match with a final score of 2 sets to 1. Throughout the game, they showcased impressive teamwork and skill, with Nikhil standing out as the standout performer for Team ME. His consistent contributions and exceptional play greatly influenced the team's overall success. The game presented a thrilling showcase of skill and perseverance.

After years of dedication and hard work, the time has come for outgoing team to pass the responsibility upon the shoulders of the new leaders. We are thrilled to announce the incoming team head along with the new post holders, who brings a fresh perspective and exciting ideas for the future of our ME Club. We thank the outgoing team for their countless contributions and remarkable achievements and look forward to seeing the club continue to thrive under the guidance of the new team with their caliber and potential.

The team ME CLUB is pleased to announce the success of "Introduction to racing vehicles" workshop, held from February 15 to 16th, at Mechanical department.

The day started with a quick recap of previous day's lecture and further a short Q&A session with participants. Then after, Deepraj Bera and Adarsh Raj (3rd year, ME) took the opportunity to share the podium and coherently introduced the classification of vehicles based on engines and various purposes. Later on, he delved into the detailed discussion of racing vehicles, it's key characteristics, design considerations and manufacturing.

The two days workshop then concluded with an interactive session between the participants and the hosts followed by distribution of participation certificate and food packets.

With such an overwhelming response and enthusiasm of the participants, we announce the conclusion of the workshop and indeed we are thankful to the hosts to provide such a knowledgeable and enriching insights on the said topic.

We are committed to organise many more workshops in the future!

The ME Club organised a 2-day workshop on “Introduction to Racing Vehicles”, sponsored by AICTE SPICES. the session was undertaken by the seniors of the ME Club.

On the first day, the event started with the felicitation of the dignitaries and some short pieces of advice from them. The session then started with an introductory speech on the evolution of automobiles by Deep Raj Bera. The seniors then went on to explain the various systems present in a vehicle and the functioning of every system.

The session for the day ended with a questionnaire session from the side of the participants, which was answered satisfactorily by the seniors.

On the afternoon of 10th of February, alumni of Haldia Institute of Technology, Mechanical Engineering Batch of 2004 and the Associate Director of Ernst & Young, Mr. Sudipto Mitra, took the liberty to visit his alma mater to guide the students on the topic "Application of Innovation and Creative Thinking in Industry".

Mr. Mitra has donated many books to the departmental library. He delivered an excellent session, advising on industry requirements and how creative thinking can help any industry grow. He gave examples of various companies that took creative approaches toward their market and how it helped them.

His way of explaining things had a very comical and understandable approach. He took questions from the students and answered them accordingly. The ME Club shows its heartfelt gratitude to Mr. Sudipto Mitra.

After scrutinizing all the applications received in recruitment form, ME CLUB finished off the interview today. The interview were conducted for the following spots that includes content writing, Graphics design, Photographer and volunteer. The content writers were made to write a short article for which a random topic was given to all the students. While the volunteers were asked to showcase their ability and skills to manage the club activities which falls under different categories that incorporates Cultural, sports and public relations as well. After a tough process of reviewing all the candidates, ME CLUB is ready to hire the fresh talents and it would be our utmost pleasure to work with young and fresh enthusiastic minds. The list of recruited candidates is yet to be published.

It’s a golden opportunity for all amateur automobile enthusiasts; and even if you’re not, we can ensure that you too will have a piqued interest in this topic after the event. We will be starting from the basics of automobile, and connect it to racing vehicles.

Haldia Institute of Technology witnessed Annual Sports Meet 2023 on 2nd and 3rd of February. With the loud and resonating beats of the marching band, the event was inaugurated.

Beating the ground with synchronized steps; despite the sunny afternoon, motivation and morale was high from the pep talk. All sweaty, early morning practices paid off. Carrying the yellow flag, the Mechanical Engineering Department, secured the 2nd prize for March past.

Shiv Shankar Samanta(3rd year) secured 3rd prize for long Jump and 1st prize for High Jump.
