The Department of Journalism and Mass Communication, Dev Sanskriti Vishwavidyalaya, organized a workshop on “Journalism of Uttarakhand & Contemporary Issues” on 7 September 2026 under the guidance of Respected Vice President Sir, Dr. Chinmay Pandya, DSVV.

Dr. Mukesh Bora conducted the session and explained important syllabus topics related to Uttarakhand journalism and contemporary issues in a simple and practical way. He also discussed current issues and cleared the doubts of the students.

The Head of the Department, faculty members, and students were present during the workshop. The session was informative, interactive, and useful for the students.

🎙️ Special Session on Radio Pre-Production, Production & Post-Production

The Department of Journalism and Mass Communication, Dev Sanskriti Vishwavidyalaya, organized a special session on “The Process of Radio Pre-Production, Production and Post-Production” under the leadership of Dr. Chinmay Pandya, Vice President, Dev Sanskriti Vishwavidyalaya, and Dr. Ajay Bharadwaj, Head of the Department of Journalism and Mass Communication.

The session was conducted by Aditya Pratap Singh Rathore, Media Correspondent, All India Radio (Akashvani), who provided students with valuable insights into career opportunities in journalism and explained the complete workflow of radio news—from pre-production and production to final broadcasting.

The session offered students an opportunity to understand the practical aspects of radio journalism and the professional processes involved in creating and delivering news content.

The programme concluded with an interactive session, where students shared their queries and received insightful responses, guidance, and practical advice from the resource person.

An enriching initiative towards strengthening practical learning and professional preparedness in journalism and mass communication.

देव संस्कृति विश्वविद्यालय में आयोजित “फोटो पत्रकारिता पर मास्टरक्लास” में पुरस्कार प्राप्त फोटो पत्रकार सर्वेश ने विद्यार्थियों के साथ फोटो पत्रकारिता की बारीकियाँ, मीडिया में फोटो पत्रकार की भूमिका और फील्ड रिपोर्टिंग के अनुभव साझा किए।

एक महिला फोटो पत्रकार के रूप में उन्होंने अपने सफर, संघर्षों और चुनौतियों से जुड़े अनुभवों के साथ-साथ युद्ध एवं संघर्ष क्षेत्रों में काम करने के अनुभव भी विद्यार्थियों के साथ साझा किए।

A memorable Facilitation & Award Ceremony celebrating the talent, creativity, and visual storytelling of our young photographers at DSVV. 🏆📸

With 462+ registrations, 4 themes, and 9+ photography-based events & activities, Lens-e-Utkarsh became a vibrant celebration of creativity and student participation.

Grateful for the gracious presence, guidance, and support of Hon’ble Vice President Dr. Chinmay Pandya Sir and the mentorship of Dr. Ajay Bharadwaj Sir, Head, Department of Journalism & Mass Communication.

Lens-E-Utkarsh 2026 | Celebrating Creativity Through the Lens 📸

The Department of Journalism & Mass Communication, Dev Sanskriti Vishwavidyalaya, successfully organised the four-day University-Level Photography Competition, “Lens-E-Utkarsh 2026”—a vibrant celebration of creativity, observation and visual storytelling.

The successful culmination of the initiative was appreciated by Dr. Chinmay Pandya Ji, Vice President, DSVV, who commended Lens-E-Utkarsh as a meaningful, creative and student-centric initiative. He encouraged students to actively participate in experiential learning opportunities, explore their potential and continuously develop practical and creative skills beyond the conventional classroom.

Across four days, 462 students participated in the initiative and submitted 600+ photographs, transforming everyday moments, perspectives and experiences into compelling visual stories.

The event featured a range of engaging departmental activities, including:

⚡ Assemble & Click
🧠 Photography Quiz
…and several other creative engagements designed to encourage students to observe, explore, experiment and communicate through the language of visuals.

The concluding Facilitation Programme celebrated the enthusiasm and creative efforts of the participants, with all winners felicitated and awarded prizes for their outstanding work.

Lens-E-Utkarsh 2026 was more than a photography competition—it was an opportunity for students to step beyond the classroom, sharpen their creative vision, build practical skills and discover new ways of expressing ideas through visual storytelling.

A heartfelt appreciation to every student who participated, captured, created and contributed to making Lens-E-Utkarsh 2026 a memorable celebration of creativity.

📸 A Day of Learning, Vision & Photography!

As part of Lens-E-Utkarsh 2026, the Department of Journalism & Mass Communication, DSVV, organised an engaging Photography Master Class with Mr Raju Pushola Ji.

The session covered his experiences and insights from the world of photography, exploring different fields, essential skills, photographic vision, training, and hands-on learning. From understanding lenses, framing and shot selection to exploring various photography terms and techniques, the session offered valuable practical insights and an engaging learning experience. 📷✨

The Department also introduced Mr Raju Pushola Ji to its departmental activities and publications and shared glimpses from last year’s photography event, creating an enriching exchange of ideas and experiences.

The Master Class was organised under the visionary leadership of the Vice President of the University, Respected Dr Chinmay Pandya Ji, and was graced by the presence of the Department Head, Dr Ajay Bhardwaj Ji, whose guidance and support contributed to the successful completion of the session.
