S. N. Bhatt Memorial Excellence Summer Research Fellowship Program at ICTS-TIFR, Bangalore

International Centre for Theoretical Sciences (ICTS-TIFR), Tata Institute of Fundamental Research, Bengaluru invites applications from academically bright and motivated students for the ICTS – S. N. Bhatt Memorial Excellence Fellowship Program every summer typically around the middle of May till the middle of July.

Eligibility:
1) Undergraduate students of science, mathematics, and engineering, who are in their third, fourth or fifth year of the program are eligible to apply.
2) Exceptional undergraduates in their second year may also apply.
3) Masters degree students and those who have completed their undergraduate are also welcome to apply.

Interested candidates should apply online with their CV and relevant details. The applicants also need to arrange at least two recommendation letters. Applications will be normally reviewed in February and results will be declared around early March every year.

Summer Internship 2019 @ National Crime Records Bureau, Delhi.

Nature of internship:
National Crime Records Bureau, an attached office of Ministry of Home Affairs, Government of India invites applications for Internship Programme – 2019 from eligible students/candidates as per the NCRB Internship Scheme.

Maximum 15 interns will be allowed at a time.

1. Application of Internship should be duly forwarded by the Director/Dean/Head of Department of the respective College/University.
2. Students pursuing Graduation/ Post-Graduation degree in Law/Humanities/Information Technology/Computer Science/Science/Criminology/Forensic Science from UGC or AICTE recognized universities/Institutions are eligible.
3 Preference would be given to students in their final year or pre-final (for B.Tech students).
4. The applicant will be required to submit self-attested Mark sheet/Certificate starting from class XII, at the time of acceptance of the offer for an internship.
5. During the internship period, the students will be regular in attendance and misbehavior of any intern in any form would be seriously viewed.
6. The intern will follow the same dress code and disciplinary norms as applicable to the employees of the Bureau.
7. The internship completion certificate would be given subject to the assessment of the student at the end of the internship.

Deadline: Colleges/Universities can forward the names of eligible students to this Bureau at least by 30 April 2019.

Summer Internship, Department of Computer Science & Engineering,@ IIT Bombay



Apply for the internship only if you are completing the 3rd year in April/May 2019. Students completing the 2nd year, with exceptional academic performance and other achievements may also be considered.

All the work under the summer internship is released under Open Source. Consequently, most of the tools and software environment used in our R&D is also from Open Source Software(OSS). You will thus be working on Ubuntu (a variant of Linux), and using Python, MYSQL/Postgress, JAVA, GCC and other such packages. Even if you do not have adequate exposure to these, you will get ample opportunity to learn them during your internship. All we expect is that you are able to learn fast, and are able to meaningfully use what you learn. You will be engaged for a period of 7+ weeks. Your project leader will evaluate your work at the end of the internship. We expect everyone to work hard, and successfully complete the assignments well in advance of the last date.

You have to stay within the IIT campus. Hostel accommodation will be made available to you during the period of internship.

We will not be extending any financial support except paying your enrolment fees to IIT Bombay. You will have to manage expenses during your stay in IIT on your own. However, every year, we have been able to give a reasonable amount towards your lodging and other expenses. Further details are available under the subsection 'Financials'. The tentative schedule for the program is available under the subsection 'Tentative Schedule' (any small variations in dates will be intimated). A detailed schedule will be given to you on the first day of the internship.

Internship and stay at IIT Bombay involve some expenditure to be incurred by interns. The approximate amounts are:
1. Rs. 6000/- to be paid to the IIT Bombay academic office (Internship Fee's)
2. Hostel room rent of approximately Rs 1100/- per month or part thereof (totalling around Rs 2200/- for the internship period)
3. Additional money (around Rs 20/-) per day if you wish to rent a mattress + bucket
4. Approximately Rs 130/- per day for food (breakfast, lunch, dinner) in the vacation mess
5. Of these, we will pay Rs. 6000/- directly to the institute, on your behalf. You will have to bear the rest of the expenses on your own.

Internship Opportunity Goa


Summer internship program of IIT Goa is designed to provide hands-on research experience to motivated students in a highly qualified academic setting.

The duration of the program can vary from 6 weeks to 10 weeks, depending on the availability of the faculty and students. All students pursuing relevant Bachelors/Masters program are eligible to apply.

How to apply:

1. All interested students must fill the online application form. Web pages of the IIT Goa faculties provide a clear idea of available research areas of each department. These details should be used to fill “Preferred research areas” in the application form.
2. After the deadline, faculty members of each department will scrutinize all applications and will select the interns. At the time of selection, a faculty supervisor will be allocated to each student.
3. Students can discuss the exact duration of the internship with the supervisor. It is expected that each student spends at least 6 weeks in the institute.
4. IIT Goa will not provide any stipend to summer interns, and it will not charge any fee for the same.
5. Hostel and mess facilities will be provided to summer students on a sharing basis, and the interns should bear the expenses.
6. All summer students who will stay in the hostel must avail mess facilities.
7. Before arrival, students must pay the hostel and mess fee. Further details on this will be communicated to selected students.
8. Upon arrival, all students should submit a Bonafide certificate in original, and two passport size photographs to the academic office.
9. The academic office will issue a temporary ID card to summer students, which is mandatory to enter the library and refer books. The library will not issue books to summer students.
10. Summer interns will be allowed to use Computer lab located in IT building.
11. No medical facilities will be provided to summer students.

On completion of the project, the student is expected to submit a project completion form from the supervisor. Upon the receipt of this form, the academic office will issue a certification to the student.

IISER Pune invites applications from research-oriented students to participate in its Summer Student Programme, 2019. Successful applicants will have an opportunity to participate in the research programmes of IISER Pune faculty.

Research activities in IISER Pune span both theory and experiment in biology, chemistry, earth and climate science, humanities and social sciences, mathematics and physics with a strong focus on interdisciplinary research. These summer projects are also an opportunity for students to evaluate the suitability of various programmes at IISER Pune (Integrated PhD and PhD) for future career choice.

Eligibility & Requirements

Students currently (at the time of application) studying in the 2nd, 3rd, or 4th year of B. Sc/B. Tech/B.E or equivalent

Science Academies’ Focus Area Science Technology Summer Fellowship 2019 [May 6-June 14] , Maharashtra

A Summer School of six weeks duration on ‘Science of Materials’ will be conducted at UM-DAE CEBS, Mumbai, during 6 May – 14 June 2019 and will cover different aspects of materials science. Every year the Department of Computer Science, IIT Kharagpur hosts a huge number of excellent quality interns during the summer (typically June/July). The interns are independently shortlisted by either one or a group of faculties.

During their stay at IIT Kharagpur, they are exposed to cutting edge research problems and trained in world-class technologies required to execute such projects. Many of these works finally metamorphose into high-quality publications.

Once a student is offered an internship position by some faculty, the student becomes eligible for applying for a stipend that is graciously sponsored by Microsoft Research India.

Summer Internship -Hyderabad:



The faculty in the electrical engineering department at IIT Hyderabad work in a broad range of research directions. Some details about the faculty research interests can be found here. The department offers a summer internship program between May – July every year. The internship programs are typically for 8 weeks.

The selected candidates must spend at least 2 months at IIT Hyderabad to receive a certificate.

Eligibility
The candidates from EE, ECE and EI background, and who are currently in 3rd year of their program are eligible to apply. Exceptional candidates in the 2nd year of B.Tech program and 4/5th year of reputed Integrated MSc programs are also eligible to apply.

SUMMER INTERNSHIP PROGRAM AT IIT Roorkee

IIT Roorkee invites applications for institute-funded SPARK fellowships for summer internships with a weekly stipend of ₹2500/week and project-funded summer internships.

The deadline for application acceptance is 28th Feb 2019.

Eligibility:

Students who are currently enrolled and have completed at least two semesters of the undergraduate degree (B.Arch./B.E./B.Tech./M.Sc) in a relevant discipline from any institute in India.
Following minimum CGPA criterion will apply:
CGPA > 7.5 for IITs/IISc.
CGPA > 8.0 for NITs/ IISERs/ NISER/IIEST.
CGPA > 8.5 for students of other institutes.

How to apply:

3.Applicants need to mention names of five faculty members of their choice from the list of faculty members interested in having a summer intern.
4.Application submission deadline will be February 28 and results will be announced on March 15.
5.Summer training will be held during the scheduled summer vacation at IITR (13th May-5th July), or a shorter term if the applicant is not available for the entire period. However, the term of the summer training should not be less than 6 weeks. Students of IITR will be allowed to begin their summer internship immediately after the completion of the term-end examination.
6.Accommodation and mess facilities in the Bhawans, subject to payment of necessary charges at par with that paid by students living in hostels. The average cost of housing would be around Rs.5500/month (including mess facility).
7.All interns will be issued a temporary institute ID to avail the library, sports, medical, computer centre, internet, and other institute and departmental research and recreation facilities. S/He will be required to abide by the conduct rules of the institute, failing which the internship will be terminated and the intern will be asked to leave.
8.At the successful completion of the internship, a certificate from the institute with the name of the intern and mentor, signed by Dean, SRIC, will be issued to all interns.

Summer Fellowship Programme IIT Madras


The IITM – Summer Fellowship Programme of two months with stipend is designed to enhance awareness and interest in high-quality academic research among young Engineering, Management, Sciences and Humanities students through a goal-oriented summer mini-project undertaken at the Indian Institute of Technology Madras.

Eligibility:

Candidates pursuing 3rd year of B.E./B.Tech./B.Sc. (Engg) or 3rd or 4th year of Integrated M.E./M.Tech. programme, 1st year of ME/M.Tech/M.Sc./M.A, MBA with outstanding academic background in terms of high ranks in university examinations are encouraged to apply, highlighting their academic performance and achievement including papers presented at seminars, projects executed, design contests participated, score/rank in Mathematics Olympiad and any other awards/distinctions obtained. [IIT students are not eligible to apply].

Period of the Project:
