We are pleased to share that 15 students of Diploma in Plastic Technology from Pt. J.R. Government Polytechnic College, Hoshiarpur have been successfully selected through campus placement conducted on 17th April 2026 by Elin Electronics Ltd., Solan (Himachal Pradesh), at a CTC of ₹21,036 per month.
This achievement reflects the consistent efforts of our students and the quality of technical education imparted by the institution. It is also noteworthy that most of these selected students already have multiple job offers, as they were earlier selected by Texla Plastic and Metal Pvt. Ltd., Ludhiana.
The institute congratulates all the selected students on their success and wishes them a bright and prosperous career ahead.

Another significant initiative highlighted during the Alumni Meet 2026 was the introduction of the Mrs. Suresht Dutt Memorial Academic Excellence Scholarship. This scholarship has been instituted by the family of Sh. Shiv Dutt (Plastic Technology, Batch 1996–99 Alumni) in loving memory of their mother, with the objective of promoting and supporting meritorious students. Under this scheme, a financial assistance of ₹5,100 each will be awarded annually to 20 topper students from various Engineering branches and Diploma in Pharmacy studying at Pt. J.R. Government Polytechnic College, Hoshiarpur.

A major highlight of the Alumni Meet 2026 was the conferment of five Distinguished Alumni Awards, instituted to recognize outstanding alumni for their exemplary contributions and achievements in their respective professional domains.
The awardees are listed below:

Sh. Bimal Pathak (Batch 1977–80), Civil Engineering
Sh. Tek Pal Singh (Batch 1977–80), Electrical Engineering
Sh. Sarabjit Singh Sahota (Batch 1995–98), Civil Engineering
Sh. Shiv Dutt Sharma (Batch 1996–99), Plastic Technology
Due to unavoidable circumstances, Sh. Amarjit Singh Virdi, Sh. Sarabjit Singh Sahota, and Sh. Shiv Dutt Sharma authorized their representatives (friends/relatives) to receive the awards on their behalf. Sh. Bimal Pathak and Sh. Tek Pal Singh were unable to attend and receive the awards owing to urgent professional commitments.

The Alumni Meet 2026 of Pt. J.R. Government Polytechnic College was successfully organized on 5th April 2026 in collaboration with the J.R. Government Polytechnic Alumni Welfare Society (Regd.). The event was marked by a vibrant blend of cultural and ceremonial activities, including the traditional lamp lighting ceremony, an invocation song, and a series of captivating performances such as solo dance, solo singing, rap, group dance, and energetic bhangra.
The meet witnessed enthusiastic participation from more than 70 alumni, representing batches dating back to 1962 onwards. The gathering provided a wonderful platform for alumni to reconnect, share experiences, and celebrate their enduring bond with the institution.

We at Pt. J.R. Government Polytechnic College, Hoshiarpur are proud to share that we recently hosted a week-long Mahindra Pride Classroom (MPC) training programme, brought to us by Naandi Foundation in association with Mahindra & Mahindra!

Our female students had the wonderful opportunity to sharpen their skills in communication, job readiness, emotional intelligence, critical thinking, and much more.

Watching our students grow in confidence and clarity over the course of this programme has been truly inspiring. This is exactly the kind of initiative that bridges the gap between classroom learning and the real world.

A heartfelt thank you to Naandi Foundation and the entire MPC team for bringing this valuable programme to our campus. We look forward to more such collaborations in the future! 🌟

A one-day Entrepreneurship Awareness Programme was successfully organized for the 4th semester students of Civil, Electrical, and Mechanical Engineering at Pt. J.R. Government Polytechnic College, Hoshiarpur. The programme was conducted in collaboration with the Central Institute of Hand Tools (CIHT), Extension Centre, Hoshiarpur.
The primary objective of the programme was to create awareness among students about entrepreneurship opportunities, self-employment avenues, and the importance of innovation and skill development in today’s competitive environment.
