Announcement for the 6th International Conference on Business Analytics and Intelligence (ICBAI).

Due to many requests, the last date for submitting Abstract is extended to 10th August 2018.

Submission Guidelines:

1. Abstract of about 1000 words should be submitted through email to [email protected] (or) [email protected].

2. Abstracts must include a clear indication of the purpose of research, the source of data, methodology, major results, implications and key references.

3. All submissions will be reviewed and authors of accepted abstracts should submit the full paper before 30 October 2018.

Greetings!

Operational Research Society of India - Bangalore Chapter (ORSI-BC) and Analytics Society of India (ASI) are jointly organizing the 6th International Conference on Business Analytics and Intelligence (ICBAI) during December 20-22, 2018 at Satish Dhawan Auditorium, Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore, India.

The aim of the conference is to create a platform and facilitate knowledge sharing on advanced data analysis, business analytics, big data and business intelligence for distinguished academicians, practitioners and researchers from all corners of the world. The conference will feature a demonstration of real-world applications of business analytics and business intelligence presented by academics and practitioners. The conference will also become a venue to review insights and novel business applications of tools and techniques of advanced data analysis, business analytics and business intelligence among academicians and practitioners.

We invite papers from academicians and practitioners on the listed conference topics and related areas as in the attached Brochure. Real-life applications, case studies, review and discussion papers on these topics and related areas are also welcome.

The deadline for an extended abstract [maximum of 1000 words excluding title/cover page and references] is 30th July 2018. Today on the occasion of the Mahatma's 148th birth anniversary, it is humbling to note and look back to the day he visited our IISc campus.

On the 12th of July 1927, 20 years before the Department of Management Studies was formally established, Mahatma Gandhi visited the IISc
campus and spoke to the faculty and students.

He was thoroughly impressed by the laboratories and facilities present at IISc at that time.
He humbly said,“There is no place for a rustic like me who has to stand speechless in awe and wonderment”
However, he reiterated that all the facilities- the land, the laboratories and the Institute itself were established due to the labour of millions. The Mahatma stressed the importance of lifting the millions of India out of poverty.
He wanted the research efforts to have the benefit of the poor as the main objective.

In this picture, Sir CV Raman is seen with the Mahatma. Like many places across the country, the Mahatma, on that day,
left his indelible imprint on the Indian Institute of Science.

On the 22nd of September, DoMS IISc was pleased to welcome Mr. Swapnil Potdar of Ira Sustainable Water Solutions for the . Mr. Potdar brought with him a wealth of knowledge in the field of rainwater harvesting. He shared with the students his experience of starting his own company Ira Water and how the company strives to work toward not only water conservation but also nation-building and changing people's lives.

The Department wishes to thank Mr. Potdar for his insightful discourse and hopes both he and Ira Water reach new heights of success.
