tigious institutions ‘B. It’s our pleasure to inform you that the government has given permission to establish the University, through the Act enacted by the Karnataka State Legislature ‘KLE Technological University, Act 2012’. Accordingly, the K.L.E. Society has decided to commence the University from the academic year 2015-16. Established in 1947, KLE’s B. Bhoomaraddi College of Engineering and Technology has achieved distinguished status at the national level, due to a strong emphasis on academic excellence and research of greatest value to the society. The college offers 12 Undergraduate and 9 Postgraduate programs in which over 5400 students pursue their engineering studies. Considering the synergy between research and excellent educational environment, the college has established 13 research centres in various fields of Engineering, where more than hundred research scholars are working toward their doctoral degree. After attaining autonomous status in 2007, the college undertook a holistic academic reform process to provide a truly world-class learning environment by adopting Outcome Based Education framework. The result of this reform process is reflected in students success of achieving over 950 placement offers this year. The knowledge and competency of our graduates have attracted 80 major multinational companies like Microsoft, Toshiba, Sony, Mercedes Benz, Bosch, Infosys, Accenture etc., for the campus recruitments. The success of college in establishing it’s own unique brand in the autonomous mode, prompted KLE society to seek the status of State Private University. The University status will provide a great opportunity to create a learning experience that is flexible and responsive to the demands of emerging competitive industrial and economic environment. With the state-of-the-art infrastructure, strong academic leaders and bright students, we intend to emerge as a globally-renowned University. The University will continue to develop strong linkages with industry in design, development and delivery of the courses / programs. There will be increased focus to develop strong post Graduate and Research programs. We strongly believe that KLE Technological University will play an important role in the socio-economic development of the region through entrepreneurship and research activities. Dr.PrabhakarKore, a visionary leader, spearheading a phenomenal transformation brought about by KLE society in the field of education and healthcare, has been nominated as Chancellor of the ‘KLE Technological University, Hubballi’. The University has the privilege of having eminent personalities like Prof. Natarajan, former Chairman AICTE and former Director of IIT Madras and Mrs.SudhaMurty, Chairman Infosys foundation , on the Board of Governors. With their able guidance, the University aspires to grow as a world-class institute.Dr.Ashok Shettar, has been nominated as the first Vice- Chancellor of the University. The admissions to the University will begin from the coming academic year 2015-16. As per the act, 40 % of the seats in un-aided programs will be filled through Karnataka CET process and the remaining other seats by COMEDK rankings. The University will strive hard to maintain and grow the legacy and standard of excellence set by B. B. College of Engineering and Technology, Hubli.
