Day 6: The last day of our stay in Yamunagar, the college organized a Cultural Fest. A Quiz was held in which we were divided into four groups of five students each. The quiz was based on topics such as history, heritage, culture, geography, industries etc.

We then had our last lunch in the college mess after which we headed for the festivities. The celebrations began with Haryana’s cultural dance followed by Punjab’s dance form –Bhangra.

They also performed a mime skit which was to promote awareness on the side effects of using mobile phones.
There was also a singing performance by a student who himself wrote, composed and sang the song. It was the turn of our students to perform and we exhibited a glimpse of Telangana’s culture with a dance performance, we also danced on Haryanvi songs to show what we have learnt from them. Throughout the celebrations, we were engaged in fun activities. Vote of thanks was given by our faculty and students. They also felicitated the students and the staff with gifts. Finally, all the students and the staff of both the states danced to a medley of both the cultures’ songs.

Day 5: We got an opportunity to visit Amritsar on 15th January. We took a road trip on a bus and reached Amritsar in the afternoon. We visited the famous Golden Temple. The serenity, calmness and vibes surrounding the Gurudwara were exceptional. We had lunch at the Gurudwara's Langar. We were served Roti, Green Gram Dal, Sabzi and Kheer. It was a unique experience for most of us.

We then headed to Attari-Wagah border to witness the ‘majestic Retreat’ Ceremony during which India and Pakistan, both lowered their flags at the border. It was a very momentous ceremony that filled us with pride. The coincidence was that; the day we were there at the Attari-Wagah border to witness the retreat was observed as Army Day which was fascinating for all of us.

Day4: We were invited to the engagement ceremony of Guru Gobind Singh College’s Principal’s nephew. It was a grand affair where the event was celebrated with much fervor. The warmth and hospitality extended by the Principal and the staff members was magnificent and we were treated like family. The experience that we had throughout the programme was uncanny to describe. We enjoyed different varieties of food and danced with the family.

Day 3: Soon after briefing about their labs and infrastructure facilities, arrangements were made to celebrate ‘Lohri’ - the harvest festival of Haryana and Punjab. A big camp fire was lit besides setting the mood for dance with the music of Dhol. We ate puffed rice, sesame seeds and jaggery as Prasad as it was served after liting a campfire. It started raining as we celebrated the festival which marks the end of winter. We enjoyed the weather, the music and enthusiastically participated in local dance and made the most of the festival -‘Lohri’ without holding ourselves back

Day2 :Visited the Railway Protection Service Force (RPSF), the federal government office in Haryana. We headed to RPSF in a big tractor which was a new and fun experience. One of the commandos there, guided us learn and understand several obstacles in their training programme and demonstrated how to get over them. We also learnt that in the field, commandos are exposed to various types of risks that make them agile and alert. Few of the faculty members also tried the obstacles. Walked around the whole field of RPSF and got to know many training activities that commandos undergo on a regular basis. After Witnessing the actual training procedure, our respect for them grew immensely.
