This weekend we went over to Maruthi orphanage, the place now houses more than 75 kids.
We took some groceries and eatables for the kids. As usual the kids were highly optimistic in the midst of such tough living conditions, and looking at them your own worries feel seem minuscule.
Spoken and written English has greatly improved for the kids due to online classes by Ann foundation and you can really feel the difference.

Overall a good experience noticing kids growing up well.

Special thanks to Vijaya Ma'am for always greeting us with warmest of welcome, and she indeed does a stupendous job in taking care of the kids.

On 23rd December we conducted two volunteering events, one in Balvikas school Kukatpally and the other one in a school for the underprivileged in Mumbai.

For the kids in Balvikas School (School for deaf and dumb kids), we distributed pencil boxes, fruits and brownies to celebrate the festival of Christmas with them.
The interaction with all the kids of the school has always been a great experience and so has it been this time, the kids shared their anecdotes, put up a dance program and interacted with all the volunteers.

For the Mumbai school, the volunteers distributed stationary items and eatables like plum cakes and veg puffs.
The school goes through a predicament every time during the rainy season as it lies in a low lying area and gets submerged.
Another concern for the school is the unavailability of teachers.

This Diwali was spent with the children of Maruthi orphanage, where the volunteers had gathered in the evening time to distribute crackers, sweets and well wishes.
The kids interacted with the volunteers and put up a great little dance impromptu program.
Special thanks to Kiran Nettime, Mehernosh Patel, Mohona Roy, Sanjida Barlaskar, Davinder Khurana Sidie Sid for volunteering to spend time with the kids.
The volunteers discussed the academic needs of the kids, with Vijaya Chiellukuri, the caretaker and mentor of the orphanage. Kids need help in strengthening their fundamentals especially with subjects like Physics, Chemistry, Maths and English along with other subjects and we would need to focus on improving their concepts.
We are planning to start again with tutoring the kids from December as the kids have to start their preparation for their exams from then and they need us.
Telugu speakers and folks who can teach Telugu curriculum are needed.Please join us if possible.

Last Sunday we organized an art and craft fun session at Cheers Home Foundation ... The kids had a great time learning what cool things they can make with just paper and scissors. Special thanks to our creative volunteers Sanjida Barlaskar Surabhi Verma, veda... We also continued with our study sessions at Maruthi Oldage & Orphanage Welfare Society ..some of our volunteers arranged time from their busy schedule and motivated the kids before exam season ☺☺☺☺☺

Last weekend we went to Maruthi orphanage and were able to conduct classes on both Saturday and Sunday.
From this week onwards intermediate and other exams are going to begin.
Special thanks to Vineet Dhar, Mehernosh Patel, Kiran Nettime, Padmakshi, Vedha Umakanth Chennuru Umakanth Reddy and Gupta for volunteering to teach kids time and again.
As this was a Holi weekend we also played colors with the kids and enjoyed ourselves celebrating the festival with them.
The kids need more help in strengthening their fundamentals specially with subjects like Physics, Chemistry, Maths and English and we would focus on improving their concepts from the next academic session.
We are again planning to go next week as the kids have exams and they need us.
Telugu speakers required badly...

On Saturday 4th March we visited Balvikas school and Maruthi orphanage, the kids were elated to see us and their smiles knew no bounds.

The morning visit was to Balvikas school where we had an interaction session with the specially abled kids and it was a extraordinary experience for us.

At Maruthi orphanage we conducted doubt clearing sessions as the exams are beginning from next week for the kids and later distributed some eatables and delivered some groceries to the orphanage.

We are again planning to go next week as the kids have exams and they need us.
Telugu speakers required badly...
Timings are between 5PM to 8PM on Saturday and 1 PM to 4 PM on Sunday.

This Sunday, we arranged some doubt clearing session with the kids at Maruti Orphange, we tried our best to help the kids with their curriculum, With exams knocking at the door, it is definitely a good start, hope to arrange many more such sessions atleast on weekly basis, with the help and active participation of our volunteers we can definitely achieve this :)

On 16th Dec, volunteers from HealersWorld visited Cheers Home Foundation and conducted a Dental Camp for the kids there.
Previously, on 16th Oct HealersWorld had conducted a dental screening camp for the kids of Cheers Home Foundation and this time a total of 14 kids were taken to Malla Reddy Institute of Dental Sciences where the required treatment of scaling, extraction, root canal were performed on the kids.
The staff of the college were extremely courteous and thorough professionals. Our heartfelt gratitude to all of the staff. From HealersWorld and kids side we would like to convey our sincere thanks to Dr Rajesh and Dr Niyati Singhwho helped us in planning and smooth ex*****on of this camp.
Further, we would need some more sessions for the kids to ensure all the required dental treatment is provided to the kids and this would be undertaken in the coming days.
Each and every time our group interacts with the kids of Cheers Foundation it is full of fun and fulfillment.
Our initiative towards health is part of Mission Arogya and this is our humble contribution towards it.

Hello Friends,
On 22nd Oct, saturday, we visited the campus of Bal Vikas Educational Society's school for Disabled Children. Its a special needs school catering to around 120 kids, most of which are deaf and dumb but there were others as well who are either partially blind, autistic, suffering from cerebral palsy, down's syndrome and more. The children are divided into classes based on their learning capacity and we had the privilege of meeting every class starting from Pre School to class 10. The School is equipped with a library, and also employs an audiologist and physiotherapist.

It was heart warming to meet the kids and see them gloriously succeeding in studies as well as extra curricular like dancing, sports and more, even with the struggles they face in their everyday lives. After interacting with the teachers and the principal, we had a glimpse to the extent of their struggles, how insecure they feel in their failure to communicate with people outside of their families and school. Some of the kids belonging to BPL families, struggling with school supplies even though the school caters to most of the books. Even with all that, we got an overwhelming response from them when we visited. We had a great time meeting each of the kids and learning a little bit about them.

During one of the recent corporate drives, the school received a pair of hearing aids for every student. Unfortunately, one of the kids who is from a BPL family, joined after this drive was over and doesn't have a proper hearing aid. Our plan is to provide him with a pair as well. Along with that, HealersWorld would also try to provide school supplies to the kids who are taking help from the school to continue their education. We would be organizing some fun activities for the kids during the weekends, because one of the most important things we can give them is to make them feel as a valued member of our society as they really are.

We are requesting our members at Hyderabad to please sign up for the volunteering drives to the school. Our kids at the school are looking forward to meet us.

On 16th Oct, Healersworld visited Cheers Foundation and conducted a Dental Heath Drive. We found poor dental hygiene in the kids during our previous visits and few of them were suffering from various dental problems.

All the kids were thoroughly checked. Around 15 of them would need further treatment at a dental hospital. For now, they were given medicines for the immediate pain. We would follow up with a local hospital for treatment of these kids.

Our heartfelt Thanks to Dr Niyati Singh for conducting the check ups and an informative Dental Hygiene session for the kids. She is also helping us with her connections with a local hospital, for the further treatment of the kids who are going to need it.

Our Volunteers provided the kids with toothbrushes,toothpaste and a few eatables after the session. HealersWorld understands the importance of good health in children. With each passing day, our bond with Cheers Foundation is getting stronger. Every time we visit, the kids welcome us heartily, and our volunteers have loads of fun interacting with them. We want to continue this relationship and help our kids achieve greatness in the fields of their choosing.

HealersWorld in collaboration with Helping Hands & Caring Hearts visited Smile always Foundation as part of Mission Arogya Health Checkup
25 kids were checked and were administered de-worming tablets, multivitamin syrups and also cough syrups. For some children who had severe throat congestion, cough and cold,antibiotic course was started.

It was so great to have Dr Niyati Singh on board this time who imparted her in depth knowledge of dental health to kids in most lucid and simple way
The children were extremely well behaved, intelligent and friendly and participated whole heartedly in all the activities, just like our little ones Cheers Home Foundation

What we have observed that poor dental hygiene is more or less responsible for the health issues in children.
So now we have decided to follow up all the cases and get their dental improvements completed once for all

The kids need cleaning, extractions, fillings, root canal treatment in a few cases for which we will follow up

All this has been possible because we have been in this together. Whatever means we have , we have utilized them.
Anjali Khanna has been the back bone for our Mission Arogya and we thank her from the bottom of our heart.
The road ahead is tough and exciting at the same time and the smiles on our little ones makes our resolve stronger to achieve what we started..
