FACULTY MEMBERS MUST ENHANCE THEIR SKILLS : Prof.Ghanta Chakrapani
• BRAOU organized seven day Faculty Development programme on “Micro Credential Development” for Telangana degree colleges faculty members
Hyderabad, July 20, 2026: Dr. B.R. Ambedkar Open University, Centre for Staff Training and Development (CSTD) in collaboration with Centre for Online Education and Learning (COEL) organized a week-long Faculty Development Program (FDP) on "Micro Credential Development" from July 20 to 27 at the University campus. Prof. Ghanta Chakrapani, Vice-Chancellor, BRAOU attended as Chief Guest for the inaugural session. Prof. Chakrapani stated that the university designed the micro-credential development program with the aim of creating course material that is easy for students to comprehend and study, enabling them to grasp concepts through self-study. He noted that mastering micro-credentials developed by trained faculty would allow higher education students to enhance their skills in alignment with market demands, thereby improving their employability and job prospects. He also mentioned the inauguration of ICT labs equipped with advanced digital technology to support faculty development, explaining that these labs would serve as hubs for technology-enabled teaching and facilitate online and blended learning programs.
Prof.G.Pushpa Chakrapani, Director COEL preside over the function. While speaking on the occasion, she announced that initiatives such as Faculty Development Programs (FDP) including training on micro-credential development for degree college faculty and upcoming training on Artificial Intelligence (AI) for school teachers are being undertaken. She also mentioned that the necessary infrastructure for these training programs has been established with government support.
Prof.K.Sridevi, Director, Center for Staff Training and Development (CSTD) spoke about the significance of the seven-day training program. Prof. Pallavi Kabde, Coordinator, PM-USHA, BRAOU explain about the needs of the program and proposed the vote of thanks. Prof. Rabindranath Solomon; Vasantha Rao, In-charge Computer Center, OER expert Sushumna Rao, Prof. A.R.D. Prasad, Prof. Madhukar, Directors, Deans, teaching and faculty members from various degree colleges across Telangana, and others participated in the program
