CBIT First-Year B.E./B.Tech. Students Visit Golconda Fort as Part of Student Induction Programme

Hyderabad, August 4, 2026: As part of the Student Induction Programme (SIP) 2026, first-semester B.E./B.Tech. students of Chaitanya Bharathi Institute of Technology (CBIT), Hyderabad, visited the historic Golconda Fort to promote experiential learning, cultural awareness, and team bonding.

The educational visit was organized under the coordination of Dr. Chandra Sekhar, Department of Physics, as a part of the institute's induction programme designed to provide holistic exposure to newly admitted students beyond the classroom.

During the visit, students explored the rich architectural heritage, historical significance, and engineering marvels of the Golconda Fort. They gained insights into the fort's advanced acoustic design, ingenious water management system, fortification techniques, and the glorious history of the Qutb Shahi dynasty. Faculty members explained how ancient engineering principles continue to inspire modern civil, mechanical, and architectural innovations.

The visit provided students with an opportunity to appreciate India's cultural heritage while interacting with their peers and faculty members in an informal learning environment. Such activities are intended to enhance communication skills, teamwork, observation, and critical thinking, which are essential attributes for aspiring engineers.

Speaking on the occasion, the coordinators emphasized that the Student Induction Programme is designed to help students smoothly transition into college life by fostering social interaction, cultural appreciation, ethical values, environmental awareness, and experiential learning.

Dr. B. Sreenivas Reddy, Head of the Department of Physics, First-Year In-charge, and Convener of the Student Induction Programme (SIP), congratulated the first-year students for their enthusiastic participation in the educational visit. He stated that such heritage visits play a vital role in broadening students' perspectives, fostering teamwork, and connecting classroom learning with real-world experiences. He encouraged the students to actively participate in all the activities planned under the Student Induction Programme to enhance their overall personality and professional development.

Prof. C. V. Narasimhulu, Principal, CBIT, appreciated the initiative and stated that CBIT is committed to providing students with a well-rounded educational experience that combines academic excellence with cultural, social, and experiential learning. He encouraged students to actively participate in such programmes to broaden their perspectives and develop into responsible professionals and citizens.

They came back... not because they had to, but because some places never leave your heart. 💙

Years after graduation, they walked through the same gates, smiled at the same classrooms, greeted the same professors, and, for a few unforgettable hours, they weren't CEOs, entrepreneurs, researchers, engineers, or industry leaders.

They were CBIT students once again.

The ECE Alumni Meet & Connect 2026, held on 1 August 2026, was far more than a reunion. It was a celebration of lifelong relationships, shared memories, and a collective commitment to shaping the future.

Welcoming alumni from across generations, Prof. P. V. R. Ravindra Reddy, Vice Principal (Administration), shared CBIT's remarkable journey and recent milestones, earning heartfelt applause from an audience proud to call CBIT their alma mater.

Prof. K. Vasanth, Head of the Department of ECE, presented an inspiring vision for the department's future and extended an open invitation to alumni to become partners in that journey—through mentoring, innovation, internships, research, entrepreneurship, and philanthropy.

Bringing smiles and nostalgia to every face, Prof. N. V. Koteswara Rao, Director – IQAC, reminded everyone that while technology changes, the values, friendships, and lessons learned at CBIT remain timeless. He encouraged alumni to share their success stories and become role models for today's students.

Prof. P. Narahari Sastry spoke passionately about the transformative power of alumni–institution collaboration, reminding everyone that the greatest institutions are built not only by faculty and students, but by alumni who continue to give back.

Then came the most powerful part of the day.

Alumni didn't just talk about where life had taken them—they spoke about where they wanted to take CBIT next.

They pledged mentorship. They offered internships. They promised industry connections. They expressed interest in research collaborations, entrepreneurship support, scholarships, placements, and giving back in every possible way.

That is the true strength of an alumni network—not nostalgia alone, but the willingness to return and build a better future for those who follow.

The conversations continued long after the programme ended, over a networking lunch where ideas turned into possibilities and strangers became collaborators.

Because this wasn't simply an alumni meet.

It was the beginning of new partnerships, new opportunities, and a renewed promise to keep the CBIT legacy growing stronger with every generation.

To every alumnus who travelled back to campus—thank you for proving that distance and time can never weaken the bond with one's alma mater.
