And finally, Prof. Haragopal, a distinguished political scientist is currently ICSSR National Fellow with the Tata Institute of Social Sciences, Hyderabad. He was with the University of Hyderabad as a professor in the Department of Political Science and later in the Center for Human Rights, nurturing and guiding generations of students across different departments till his retirement. He was also a visiting professor at CSSEIP, NLSIU, Bangalore. He is a well known human rights activist, is with the APCLC for several years and plays an important role in conflict resolution between the state and the Naxal groups, serving as an interlocutor. He has published extensively in EPW and several other journals, written for both the Telugu and English press on human rights and politico-economic issues. As someone who has been espousing the cause of socio-economically under-privileged communities, he has been unafraid to vociferously stand up for student causes including that of Rohit Vermula against the might of the HCU administration. There are few more suitable than the professor, to school us on why organized student politics is incredibly relevant in today’s day and age. Come and watch him prove as to why he is such an integral part of the Opposition Bench!

Our fourth guest speaker is Mr. Syed Sultan Ahmed. Mr. Sultan is the managing director of LXL Ideas which makes award-winning films, organise large-impact events, publish authoritative writing and deliver holistic research & training for students, parents and educators.

He has a body of work dealing with the students, educators and educational institutions and has been a pioneer of holistic education. As the curator of Horlicks Wiz Kids, South Asia's largest school fest, his interactions with youth span across the Indian subcontinent.

His interaction with the World of free speech comes in the form of School Cinema, an initiative that pushed the boundaries on content that could be shown to school going children, and has won four successive national awards for the same, under the family values, sports and promotional categories. His magazine, Mentor, has also been conferred the award for excellence in publication.

An engineer by training, Mr. Sultan has a masters in entrepreneurship from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, and is known to be an avid biker amongst other things. A charismatic speaker, with a distinct baritone, he's at the NALSAR Student Bar Debate, playing the devil's advocate, proposing the motion. After all, his belief is that "If you don't stand for something, you will fall for anything!"

We are proud to present to you our first guest speaker. He is a former Indian diplomat turned politician. He is a journalist, a writer, a thinker. He is none other than Shri Mani Shanker Aiyar.

Although he is most widely known for his position as a Cabinet Minister and a Member of Parliament, we also remember him for his contributions to numerous public debates. A fewer number of us remember his involvement in student politics at his Alma Mater, Cambridge University.

We are honoured to be hosting Mr. Aiyar at NALSAR, speaking against the motion: "This House Will Ban All Organised Political Activities on Indian Campuses".
