St. Francis College For Women(Hyd) - Dept. of Computer Science St. Francis College for Women, Department of Computer Science Starting with 5 PCs and a class of 30 students, the department has grown in leaps and bounds.

The Department of Computer Science was established in the year 1988 and was the first department to be established under autonomy. Today, over 200 desktops are housed in over 7 labs and Internet access is freely available to both staff and students.

A Two day Workshop on EMBED - TRONICS & HACK -X- PLOIT was organized by the Department of Computer Science on 15th and 16 th December, 2015. The session on Embed-tronics taught the students to program a micro controller and design a robot that is sensitive to obstacles in its path and change its direction. It emphasized the significance and power of programming.
The Hack-x-ploit workshop highlighted the need for safe browsing. It focused on the vulnerability of the user when using the internet and brought awareness of what measures need to be taken to protect their information to safeguard themselves from internet snoopers (hackers). The workshop also enlightened the students on the significance of ethical hacking. The participants were highly appreciative of the sessions & the speakers and are already asking about the next version.
