Development Studies programme successfully organised a virtual lecture series on development practices last semester covering a range of topics viz., Participatory action research, the role of SDGs, evolving business policies, the relevance of skill development and so on. Students got an opportunity to learn in-depth on these topics from the speakers who are active contributors to the field of development. Despite being completely online, the sessions were interactive with intelligent Q&As. The speakers for the five sessions were:
1. Dr. Deepak Nikarthil
Dr. Deepak is a Development (Health) Governance Scholar and a Socioeconomic researcher currently working with Swadhikar - Asia Dalit Rights Forum (Jan 2015- present) on the inclusion and participation of the Discriminated based on Work and Descent in the Sustainable Development Goals.
2. Mr. Trinanjan Radhakrishnan
Mr. Triranjan is a development professional, currently working with Oxfam India's programme on private sector engagement. He is also the Project Coordinator - Responsible Supply Chain & Sustainable Development at Oxfam India University of East Anglia, Oxfam IndiaDelhi, India
3. Dr. Sancheeta Ghosh
Dr. Sancheeta is an Evaluation specialist and Gender rights activist with an experience of more than a decade in human rights organizations, especially ICRW, Breakthrough, CREA and APWLD along with its member organizations in 36 Asia-Pacific countries.
4. Mr. Subhash Kiran K
Mr. Subhash is a rural development interventionist with experience in handling large scale development projects across domains viz., Vocational Skill training, Rural enterprises, IT, and Natural Resource Management. He is currently working as State Programme Manager in Society for SEEDAP.
5. Dr. Srestha Banerjee
Dr. Sreshtha is leading the natural resource management and climate justice works at the International Forum for Environment, Sustainability & Technology (iFOREST), a New Delhi based environmental research organization. Her core interest lies in improving the environment and resource governance, and securing community rights through an interface of strong research and advocacy.
