🌿 Interfaith Seminar on the Role of Women in Society 🌿

Andhra Christian Theological College, in collaboration with the Auxiliary of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community, conducted an interfaith seminar on “The Role of Women in Society: Islamic and Christian Perspectives” on 21 August 2026 at the ACTC Diamond Jubilee Bhavan.

The seminar provided a meaningful space for Christian–Islamic dialogue, encouraging mutual understanding and reflection on the role, dignity, and contribution of women in society from both religious perspectives.

The programme was coordinated by Rev. K. Vimalesh Kumari, Coordinator, Institute of Women and Gender Studies, ACTC, under the leadership of Rev. Dr. B. Sunil Vara Kumar, Principal, ACTC.

🕊️ ACTC Remembers

Andhra Christian Theological College, Hyderabad, mourns the passing of Rev. Dr. D. J. Jeremiah (1946–2026), former Principal of ACTC.

A memorial service was conducted at the ACTC Chapel, bringing together the college community to remember his life, ministry, and dedicated service to theological education and the Church. Faculty members paid tribute to his life and legacy, remembering his contribution to ACTC and his faithful witness.

The ACTC community gives thanks to God for his life and ministry. His contribution to the institution remains a valued part of ACTC’s history.
The college community extends its heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family and assures them of its prayers. May God grant them comfort, strength, and peace during this time of grief.

📚🌿 265th Carey Day Celebrations 2026 🌿📚
📅 17 August 2026 | Andhra Christian Theological College, Hyderabad

Andhra Christian Theological College celebrated the 265th Carey Day, commemorating the life, ministry, and enduring legacy of William Carey and his contribution to Christian mission, theological education, translation, and social transformation.
The celebrations began with a morning devotion led by Rev. Ch. Helen Salomi, Dean, Baptist Hall, bringing the ACTC community together in worship, prayer, and reflection.

The academic sessions featured paper presentations by Rev. John Jithendra, Presbytery In-charge, CSI Lalaguda English Congregation, and Rev. N.S. James Sudhir, Additional Pastor, English Service, St. Matthew’s North Parish (AELC), Guntur. The second session was led by Rev. Dr. B. Sunil Varakumar, Principal, ACTC, with faculty, students, and church leaders participating.

The day also included community fellowship and an evening cultural programme, providing space for celebration and shared learning.

📖✨ Carey Sunday Celebration 2026 ✨📖
📅 16 August 2026 | ACTC Chapel

Andhra Christian Theological College, Hyderabad, observed Carey Sunday as part of the 265th Carey Day celebrations, remembering the life and pioneering mission of William Carey.

The worship service featured a special message by Rev. Ch. Shadrach, Old Testament Professor, who reflected on Carey’s enduring contribution to Christian mission, education, and the translation of Scripture. The service concluded with Holy Communion led by the Hall Deans.

The celebration brought together the ACTC community in worship, remembrance, and renewed commitment to the mission of God.

🇮🇳✨ 80th Independence Day Celebrations ✨🇮🇳
📅 15 August 2026 | ACTC, Hyderabad

Andhra Christian Theological College celebrated the 80th Independence Day of India with a spirit of patriotism, fellowship, and responsible citizenship.

The celebration was graced by Sri Kommu Vidyadhar, Director, HMDA, Hyderabad, as the Chief Guest. He shared a reflection on the significance of Independence Day and the responsibilities that come with freedom. The programme was moderated by Rev. Dr. B. Sunil Varakumar, Principal, ACTC.

The occasion also marked the inauguration of the ACTC Sports T-shirts, followed by sports activities and competitions for the ACTC community. The programme and sporting activities were coordinated by Rev. V. John Pradeep Kumar, Sports In-Charge, ACTC, and Sports Committee.

As part of ACTC’s commitment to Eco Care and Concerns, saplings were planted on the campus under the initiative of Rev. K. Jason, Coordinator, Eco Concerns and Campus Care, highlighting the ACTC community’s commitment to caring for creation and nurturing a sustainable environment.

📖 SCMI Inauguration 2026-2027 | 5 August 2026

Andhra Christian Theological College, Hyderabad, inaugurated the SCMI (Student Christian Movement of India) Unit for the academic year 2026-2027 on 5 August 2026.

The programme featured an inaugural address and introduction to the vision and ministry of SCMI by Mr. B. Bharath Kumar, SCMI Regional Secretary, who encouraged students to actively participate in the movement's mission of Christian witness, leadership, and social engagement.
Rev. Dr. B. Sunil Varakumar, Principal, delivered a special address, inspiring the students to grow as faithful Christian leaders committed to service, justice, and transformative ministry in the church and society. The programme was coordinated by Rev. D. Dasu, SCMI Coordinator, ACTC Unit.

🏅 ACTC Sports Inauguration Day | 1 August 2026

Andhra Christian Theological College, Hyderabad, inaugurated its Sports Activities for the Academic Year 2026-2027 with a worship service, flag hoisting, and the lighting of the sports torch.

Rev. Dr. B. Sunil Varakumar, Principal, officially inaugurated the event and delivered the inaugural address, encouraging students to pursue excellence with discipline, perseverance, teamwork, and integrity.
The programme was coordinated by Rev. V. John Pradeep Kumar, Sports In-Charge, along with the ACTC Sports Committee, whose efforts ensured the successful inauguration of the sports season.

The inauguration marked the beginning of a new season of sports at ACTC, fostering physical fitness, healthy competition, teamwork, and holistic development among the students.

D.Min. & M.Min. First Year Methodology Seminar
28–29 July 2026 | ACTC

Andhra Christian Theological College successfully conducted the D.Min. and M.Min. First Year Methodology Seminar on 28–29 July 2026, marking the beginning of the research journey for the new batch of students.

Rev. Dr. B. Sunil Varakumar, Principal, addressed the participants and encouraged them to pursue theological research with academic excellence, critical inquiry, and a commitment to the mission of the Church. The seminar was coordinated under the leadership of Rev. Dr. Y. Rajendra Prasad, Dean, PCTE, reaffirming ACTC's commitment to nurturing quality theological scholarship and research.

During the two-day seminar, students were introduced to the fundamentals of research methodology, the process of developing research proposals, identifying research areas, and engaging in academic discussions with faculty mentors.

In Loving Memory of Rev. Dr. B. W. David Raju (07 November 1943 – 29 July 2026)

The Andhra Christian Theological College mourns the passing of Rev. Dr. B. W. David Raju, retired faculty member of ACTC, who entered into eternal rest on 29 July 2026.

Rev. Dr. David Raju faithfully served ACTC for 37 years, dedicating his life to theological education, pastoral ministry, and the formation of generations of church leaders. His commitment to teaching, humble leadership, and deep faith left a lasting impact on the life and ministry of the College.

The ACTC community gathered for a memorial devotion to thank God for his life, ministry, and enduring legacy. We extend our heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family and pray that God's peace and comfort will be with them.

May Rev. Dr. B. W. David Raju rest in the eternal peace of our Lord.
