Mooting is one of the most popular and exciting co-curricular activities in law school. It takes one a step nearer to the inherent creativity and fun in litigation. From court mannerism to the skills of effective argumentation and from comprehensive research to handling the grilling by the judges, it's one of the activities that shouldn't be given a miss in law school. and of course, its always fun to dress up in snazzy formal clothes!
In Nalsar, we have in place a Moot Court Committee selected every academic year, which handles everything related to mooting. Every batch has a moot representative selected through annual elections and these representatives form the committee.
The committee holds the Annual Selection Moot in July-August every year, from which a selection team is formed and selected people are allotted national moots for the coming year. There are separate open challenges for international moots and national moots not covered within the selection pool. there are separate open challenges.
Mooting as an activity is well balanced with the academic workload. For instance, a team representing Nalsar in a moot is entitled to receive project exemptions and exam exemptions in case of clashes with the Moot schedule.
Nalsar has its own set of prestigious national moots that take place annually -the BR Sawhney Moot and the NFCG Moot.
Nalsar has a rich mooting culture, with considerable achievements in best moots across the world.
