Police Commemoration Day is observed on 21st October, every year. Police Commemoration Day is observed to honour the policemen who have lost their lives on duty for the nation. Many tributes are paid to the martyrs on this day. In 2018, Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated Indias first national police museum in Delhi on the occasion of Police Commemoration Day.

The day commemorates the sacrifices of ten CRPF personnel who lost their lives while defending our border with China On October 21, 1959.

International Day of Sign Languages is celebrated on 23 September every year with a new theme every year. Sign language is a common language that is quite different from spoken languages. It is quite common because as per the research, there are around 72 million deaf people around the world using more than 300 different sign languages.

It was on 19 December 2017 when United Nations General Assembly declared 23 September as the International Day of Sign Languages. This day aims to make deaf people feel like a part of the community with the regular use of their sign languages.

International Literacy Day takes place on September 8 every year to raise awareness and concern for literacy problems that exist within our own local communities as well as globally. International Literacy Day was founded by the proclamation of The United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization, UNESCO, in 1966 “to remind the public of the importance of literacy as a matter of dignity and human rights.” International Literacy Day brings ownership of the challenges of illiteracy back home to local communities where literacy begins, one person at a time.

Although much progress has been made in improving literacy rates in the more than fifty years since the first International Literacy Day, illiteracy remains a global problem. There are thought to be more than 750 million adults around the world who cannot read. The scourge of Illiteracy spares no nation or culture on earth, including the United States, where an estimated 32 million American adults are illiterate.

National Sports Day is celebrated every year on 29 August, the birth anniversary of hockey legend Major Dhyan Chand. India's great hockey player 'Major Dhyanchand Singh', known worldwide as 'the magician of hockey', got India a gold medal in the Olympic Games. He was instrumental in India's first hat-trick of Olympic gold medals, with victories at the Summer Olympics in 1928, 1932 and 1936. Therefore, to honor Major Dhyan Chand, his birthday 29 August is celebrated as National Sports Day in India every year. Major Dhyan Chand scored more than 400 goals in his career.

स्वतंत्रता सैनानी चंद्रशेखर आजाद की आज जयंती है। चंद्रशेखर आजाद का जन्म 23 जुलाई, 1906 को मध्य प्रदेश के झाबुआ जिले के भाबरा नामक स्थान पर हुआ था। महान क्रांतिकारी चन्द्रशेखर आजाद ने अपना पूरा जीवन देश की आजादी की लड़ाई के लिए कुर्बान कर दिया था। बेहद कम्र उम्र में चंद्रशेखर देश की आजादी की लड़ाई का हिस्सा बने थे। सन् 1922 में चौरी चौरा की घटना के बाद गांधीजी ने आंदोलन वापस ले लिया तो देश के कई नवयुवकों की तरह आज़ाद का भी कांग्रेस से मोहभंग हो गया। जिसके बाद पण्डित राम प्रसाद बिस्मिल, शचीन्द्रनाथ सान्याल योगेशचन्द्र चटर्जी ने 1924 में उत्तर भारत के क्रान्तिकारियों को लेकर एक दल हिन्दुस्तान रिपब्लिकन ऐसोसिएशन का गठन किया। चन्द्रशेखर आज़ाद भी इस दल में शामिल हो गए।

Oceans cover 71 percent of the Earth’s surface while they hold 97 percent of the water found on our planet. With their mammoth size, oceans significantly impact temperature and weather. They play a crucial role in the food supply of both humans and other organisms. Oceans are home to an array of flora and fauna and support rich biodiversity.

In a bid to conserve the water body through collective efforts and save it from the perils of human activities, June 8 is annually observed as World Oceans Day. The day is marked to highlight the role of oceans in sustaining life on Earth and to inspire action to conserve it.

WORLD OCEANS DAY 2022: THEME
The theme for World Oceans Day 2022 is ‘Revitalisation: Collective Action for the Ocean’. With the ocean being an essential link that connects us all, it must be conserved through adequate measures. It has to be made sure that the ocean isn’t harmed anymore but rather revitalized.

14 मई को मराठा साम्राज्य के शासक संभाजी महाराज की जयंती मनाई जाती है। महाराष्ट्र समेत भारत के अन्य हिस्सों में इस जयंती को मनाया जाता है। शिवाजी महाराज के सबसे बड़े पुत्र संभाजी भोसले मराठा साम्राज्य के दूसरे शासक बने थे। संभाजी भोसले का जन्म 14 मई 1657 में हुआ था। उन्होंने 2 साल की उम्र में अपनी मां सई बाई को खो दिया था। पेशवा मोरोपंत पिंगले के साथ संभाजी महाराज ने 1672 में कोलवान की विजय में पहली बार मराठा सेना का नेतृत्व किया था।
