University Teaching Department of Electronics called "School of Electronics" the was conceived and planned as early as 1989, with the launch of M. This course was a joint initiative of UGC & Department of Electronics, Govt. of India to train manpower in Electronics Science. School received generous funding under the initiative with matching contribution of State Govt. towards infrastru
cture and faculty positions. The "School of Electronics" was thus established in April 1990 following the above mentioned grants and support from DOE and UGC. The specialization offered in M. (Electronics) Course is VLSI Design and Embedded Systems. In 1993, the school started another course M.Sc. Electronics and Communication. The Specialization of this Course is Network Infrastructure Management. In 2002, the School started AICTE approved M. Tech Embedded -4 Semester course, with 18 seats. In 2007, a new Full Time two Year M. Tech Spatial Information Technology was Started (AICTE approved). In 2008, UGC Sponsored M. in Mobile Computing Technology Launched. The State Government also provide matching grant with the UGC grant for its academics building. These grants totaled Rs. A beautiful building thus exists with the School of Electronics
