This International Women’s Day, we celebrate the remarkable contributions of women in science who have broken barriers and inspired generations. Pioneers like Marie Curie, Janaki Ammal, and Indore-born Kamala Sohonie, India’s first woman to earn a PhD in a scientific discipline, paved the way for women in chemistry and scientific research.
Their determination opened doors for future generations of women scientists. Today, at the Department of Chemistry, IIT Indore, women researchers proudly continue this legacy through innovation, curiosity, and dedication. From developing new materials to exploring complex chemical systems, their work is helping shape the future of chemistry.
On this day, we recognize and celebrate the passion, resilience, and achievements of women who continue to inspire the next generation in science.
