The Department of Geography successfully completed a three-day educational field survey at Thembang Heritage Village, West Kameng District, Arunachal Pradesh. The survey focused on the geographical significance of the village, with special emphasis on its cultural heritage, tourism potential, and sustainable development.

The field survey was organized as an integral part of the B.A. Geography 5th Semester curriculum, providing students with valuable practical exposure and an opportunity to connect their theoretical knowledge with real-world geographical observations.

The Department of Agriculture, Himalayan University, organized an academic visit to Van Vigyan Kendra, Chessa, Arunachal Pradesh, for B.Sc. Agriculture final-year students on 6-October-2026.

The visit was led by Mr. Bidyut Bikash Neog, RAWE Coordinator and Assistant Professor, Department of Agriculture, under the supervision of Dr. Sonbeer Chack, Head, Department of Agriculture, Himalayan University.

During the visit, technical experts provided valuable insights into the propagation methods of medicinal, aromatic, horticultural, and forest plants. The students gained practical exposure to various plant propagation techniques and enhanced their understanding of field-level agricultural practices, complementing their classroom learning with hands-on academic experience.

Dr. Sonbeer Chack expressed his sincere gratitude to Mr. R. K. Taj, Scientist, State Forest Research Institute (SFRI), Arunachal Pradesh, for his valuable support and assistance in facilitating this academic visit.

The visit was a valuable learning opportunity for the students, strengthening their practical knowledge and appreciation of plant science and sustainable agricultural practices.

The Department of Special Education, Himalayan University, Itanagar, organized an educational visit for B.Ed. Special Education 1st Semester students (ID & LD) to Donyi-Polo Mission School for the Hearing and Visually Impaired, Chimpu, on 28 September 2026.

The visit provided practical exposure to CWSN assessment, IEP, teaching-learning practices, TLMs, functional education, and vocational training. It helped student teachers connect theoretical knowledge with real-world practices and strengthened their understanding of inclusive education and individualized learning.

Himalayan University students enthusiastically participated in the Voluntary Blood Donation Drive organized by the Arunachal Life Saving Foundation (ALSF) in collaboration with the State NSS Cell, Directorate of Higher & Technical Education, Government of Arunachal Pradesh, with support from TRIHMS and R.K. Mission Hospital.
