We are delighted to share that Dr. B. Lal Institute of Biotechnology (BIBT) has been honoured with the prestigious “Kalam Medal for Excellence in Life Sciences Research” under the Bharat Biotech Award for Institutional Excellence at BioScience Summit 2026 – The Next Gene | Masters' Union Awards. 🌟

The award was presented by Dr. Jitendra Kumar, Professor of Practice, IISER Mohali and Former Managing Director, Biotechnology Industry Research Assistance Council (BIRAC), in recognition of BIBT’s continued commitment to excellence in life sciences research, innovation and meaningful scientific impact.

We brought our annual collegiate fest 2026 to a spectacular close with an evening dedicated to our newest members of the BIBT family — our Freshers Party for the BSc and MSc Biotechnology & Microbiology batches! 🧬💫

What better way to welcome our new students than with a celebration packed with music, talent, laughter and unforgettable memories? ❤️

We are proud to congratulate our BSc Biotechnology I Year students, Mukul Mukul and Manan Singh, on the publication of their research paper titled “Microbial Bioremediation for Polyethylene in Industrial Wastewater Sludge” in the International Collegiate Research Review Journal. 🎉📚

Their work explores the potential of microbial bioremediation as a scientific approach towards addressing polyethylene pollution in industrial wastewater sludge—highlighting how biotechnology can contribute to solving some of the most pressing environmental challenges

✨ AAROHAN 2026 | DAY 1 — And the Fest Has Officially Begun! ✨

Two days. One campus. Countless talents. And an energy that could only mean one thing — Aarohan 2026 is here! 🎉

Our annual intra-collegiate fest kicked off with our vibrant student community, , unveiling this year’s theme and setting the stage for two unforgettable days of creativity, expression, competition, and celebration. 🚀

Day 1 began with voices that had something to say. 🗣️

Our Youth Parliament, judged by Mr. Aniket Singh Chouhan — an aspiring civil servant with 6 years of experience in Youth Parliaments and MUNs, having participated in 40+ MUNs as a delegate and Executive Board member — along with our proud alumnus Dr. Baby Sharma, gave students a platform to debate, deliberate and express their perspectives on issues that matter.
Then came music, where talent took centre stage. 🎶

We were delighted to welcome DR. SURBHI CHANDANI, who brings two decades of experience in teaching and training young vocalists, nurturing not just musical talent but also confidence, discipline, creativity and artistic expression.

And as the day unfolded, the campus transformed into a celebration of every kind of talent! ✨

🧬 From Learning the Principle to Running the Experiment!

At Dr. B. Lal Institute of Biotechnology, we believe biotechnology education goes beyond textbooks—it is about building practical skills that prepare students for the future.

Our Biotechnology students recently participated in an RT-PCR Workshop designed to give them valuable exposure to one of the most widely used techniques in modern biotechnology, research, and diagnostics.

🔬 The session began with an insightful demonstration by Dr. Aditi Nag, helping students understand the RT-PCR instrument, its functioning, and the workflow involved.

The learning then moved from theory to hands-on practice, with Dr Sandeep K. Shrivastava and Dr Rajendra Ola Ola guiding students through the practical aspects of the technique.

Through the workshop, students explored:
🧪 Principles & workflow of RT-PCR
⚙️ Equipment, reagents & optimisation
📊 CT Values, standard curves & data analysis
🔬 Sample preparation & run set-up
💡 Real-world applications in research, diagnostics & beyond

The workshop gave our students an opportunity to learn, experiment, troubleshoot, and understand how biotechnology techniques are applied beyond the laboratory classroom.

Because being future-ready in biotechnology means knowing not just what a technique is, but how to use it. 🚀🧬
