The Department of Mathematics was established in 1963 at a temporary campus in Pilani from where it was shifted to Jaipur in 1964. The Department was one of the two Departments which were established along with the establishment of the college in Jaipur. Late C.B Rathi was the founder Head of this Department. Gupta, Late Prof K. Gupta, Prof Y. Gaur, Prof C. L. Koul and Prof Kantesh Gupta, Prof K.

Jain, Prof. Rashmi Jain, and Dr. Nilama Gupta, whose brilliant work and intuitions pushed things in huge leaps and bounds. Their thoughts continue to echo through the ages today. The faculty members of the Department is teaching mathematics to about 1500 undergraduate and post graduate students. The members of the Department have published more than 300 research papers in national and international journals/conferences of repute. The teaching of mathematics Department is not confined only to engineering students. The Department has produced more than 70 Ph.Ds so far in varied areas of Mathematics. The Department has offers M.Sc. in Applied Mathematics. The Department also offers Ph.D. in varied areas like Information Theory, Special Functions, Integral Transform, fractional Calculus, Operation Research, Topology and Fluid Dynamics. Apart from this, the Department has organized international and national level conferences. The faculty members of the Department have also organized Short Term courses. The faculty members of the Department hold key positions / posts and memberships of various national academic bodies and societies. Our Mission is to prepare post-graduate students for productive careers in academic by providing an excellent environment for teaching, learning, and research in the theory and applications of Mathematics, we aim to produce highly qualified and well-rounded possessing fundamental knowledge of mathematics and to pursue creative research in order to serve the needs of academic and the scientific community by expanding and contributing the knowledge in the field. Our Vision is to be a recognized leader in Mathematics research and to have a strong impact in our targeted areas of research. Educational Objectives of the Department are to provide outstanding education and research programs that promote a philosophy of learning that develops a diverse Mathematics student that can be prepared for their specific profession, for advanced studies and careers in research.

The 𝐌𝐚𝐥𝐚𝐯𝐢𝐲𝐚 𝐍𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐚𝐥 𝐈𝐧𝐬𝐭𝐢𝐭𝐮𝐭𝐞 𝐨𝐟 𝐓𝐞𝐜𝐡𝐧𝐨𝐥𝐨𝐠𝐲 𝐉𝐚𝐢𝐩𝐮𝐫, successfully hosted its 𝐍𝐢𝐧𝐞𝐭𝐞𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐡 𝐂𝐨𝐧𝐯𝐨𝐜𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 on Saturday, October 11, 2025, with Shri Bhajan Lal Sharma ji, Hon'ble Cheif Minister of Rajasthan, gracing the occasion. A one-day workshop on “MATLAB: Engineering Solutions and AI in Engineering” was successfully organised for B.Tech (Electrical) second-year students on 30 October 2025 at MNIT Jaipur. The workshop was conducted as part of the project-based learning component of the Advanced Engineering Mathematics course offered by the Department of Mathematics.

Experts from MathWorks delivered insightful sessions on leveraging MATLAB for optimisation, data-driven modelling, and AI applications in engineering, with a strong focus on real-world and industrial use cases. Participants also took part in interactive, hands-on sessions and gained valuable practical exposure to MATLAB tools, live scripts, and workflows.

We are grateful to the MathWorks team, Pratyush Roy, Dr. Sauvik Chatterjee and Dr. Saumya Chaturvedi, for their guidance and support in making the workshop a great success. Appreciation is also extended to the faculty coordinator, Dr. Priyanka Harjule, and students for their enthusiastic participation. Initiatives like this continue to bridge the gap between theory and practice, preparing students for future engineering challenges.

Setting a cordial tone for the academic journey ahead, the Head of the Department, Dr. Santosh Chaudhary, greeted the students and encouraged them to make the most of their time at the department.
