Mentoring & Counselling Cell organizes

A Session on Believe Belong Become for 1 st Year Students at LKCTC
The Mentoring and Counselling Cell at LKCTC, under the guidance of Dr. Nidhi Chopra
(Dean Student Welfare & HOD IT), successfully conducted a Counselling Session on
Believe Belong and become on 4th August 2026 for 1 st Year Students.
The session was conducted by Ms. Reena Sharma, Assistant Professor, Department of
Applied Sciences, LKCTC ,encouraged students to believe in their abilities, develop
meaningful connections with peers and faculty, and become responsible, confident, and
successful individuals.
Special thanks to S. Sukhbir Singh Chatha (Director Academic Affairs, KCL Group) and
Dr. R.S. Deol (Director, LKCTC) for their constant encouragement and support of student
welfare initiatives.
Heartfelt appreciation to Ms. Mangaldeep , Ms. Arushi Sharma, Ms. Kiran for their dedicated

LKCTC Organizes Guest Lecture on Pediatric Imaging

The School of Allied and Healthcare Sciences at Lyallpur Khalsa College Technical Campus (LKCTC), Jalandhar,
organized a guest lecture on “Pediatric Imaging” for students of Radiology and Imaging Technology. The event was
aimed at providing students with meaningful academic exposure to the principles, clinical significance, and special
considerations involved in pediatric imaging.
The lecture focused on important aspects of pediatric imaging, including patient safety, appropriate imaging protocols,
radiation protection, age-specific imaging considerations, and effective communication with children and their parents.
The interactive session enabled students to connect their theoretical knowledge with clinical practice and develop a
better understanding of the challenges involved in imaging pediatric patients.
The guest lecture was delivered by Mr. Balwinder K. Thapa, Associate Professor, Dolphin PG College, who shared his
academic and professional experience and provided valuable insights into the selection of appropriate imaging
techniques according to the child’s age, clinical condition, and diagnostic requirements. The programme was
coordinated by Mr. Amandeep Paul, HOD, with Mr. Ashish Kumar Yadav serving as Co-Coordinator.
The event was graced by the esteemed presence of Dr. R. S. Deol, Director, LKCTC, and S. Sukhbir Singh Chatha,
Director – Academic Affairs, KCL Group, who highly appreciated the initiative of the department. They highlighted
that guest lectures of this nature not only enhance students’ clinical acumen but also nourish their professional growth,
instilling confidence among students as they prepare to face critical challenges in the healthcare field.

LKCTC Organizes Guest Lecture on Vascular Surgery
The School of Allied and Healthcare Sciences at Lyallpur Khalsa College Technical Campus
(LKCTC), Jalandhar, organized an insightful guest lecture on “Vascular Surgery and Limb
Salvage” on 19 August 2026 at the Mini Auditorium, LKCTC. The session was organized to provide
students with meaningful academic and clinical exposure to the field of vascular surgery and its
growing importance in modern healthcare.
The distinguished speaker for the session was Dr. Shabjot Dhillon, Senior Clinical Officer –
Vascular Surgery, Fortis Hospital, Mohali. With more than 15 years of clinical experience and
expertise in vascular surgery, emergency medicine, and related clinical care, Dr. Dhillon shared
valuable insights into the diagnosis and management of complex vascular conditions.
The lecture highlighted important aspects of vascular diseases, vascular surgery, limb salvage,
patient assessment, early intervention, and the prevention of avoidable amputations. Dr. Dhillon
emphasized the importance of timely diagnosis, appropriate clinical decision-making,
multidisciplinary teamwork, and evidence-based patient care in improving outcomes for patients
suffering from vascular disorders.
The session also focused on the significance of amputation prevention and limb preservation, with
Dr. Dhillon discussing the role of healthcare professionals in identifying vascular complications at an
early stage and providing appropriate intervention. The interaction helped students understand how
theoretical knowledge can be applied in real-world clinical settings.
Dr. Dhillon also shared her professional experiences and encouraged students to develop strong

PRESS NOTE ON INDUSTRIAL VISIT TO VERKA MILK

PLANT, JALANDHAR

The School of Allied Health Sciences at Lyallpur Khalsa College Technical Campus (LKCTC),
Jalandhar, organized an educational industrial visit to Verka Milk Plant, Jalandhar, for students
pursuing B.Sc. Medical Laboratory Science and B.Sc. Nutrition and Dietetics. The visit was
designed to provide students with practical exposure to dairy processing, quality control, food
safety, and laboratory testing procedures used in the dairy industry.
The visit aimed to bridge the gap between theoretical knowledge and practical implementation
by giving students firsthand experience of modern milk processing and quality assurance
practices. During the visit, students explored various stages of milk processing, including milk
reception, testing, pasteurization, homogenization, processing, packaging, storage, and
distribution.
The students were guided through the laboratory and production areas, where they learned
about different quality-control tests performed on milk and dairy products. They gained
valuable knowledge about maintaining hygiene, preventing contamination, ensuring food
safety, and following standard operating procedures. The visit also helped students understand
the importance of laboratory professionals in maintaining the quality and safety of dairy
products.
The students actively participated in the visit and interacted with the technical staff, who
explained the functioning of various machines, laboratory equipment, and quality-testing
procedures. This practical exposure enhanced the students’ understanding of industrial
operations and connected their classroom learning with real-world applications.
The visit was coordinated by faculty members from the School of Allied Health Sciences, LKCTC,
under the guidance of Mr. Amandeep Paul, Head of Department along with Mr. Fakir Chand ,
COD and Event Coordinator. The initiative reflects LKCTC’s commitment to holistic education,
combining academic rigor with practical exposure to prepare students for professional success

PRESS NOTE ON ‘INDEPENDENCE DAY CELEBRATION AT LKCTC
NCC committee of LKCTC celebrated INDEPENDENCE DAY with full zeal at Govt.
Middle School , Village Johal, Jalandhar. Independence Day serves as a poignant
reminder of the sacrifices made by countless freedom fighters who fought
tirelessly for the country& #39;s independence . The NCC cadets performed a Skit on
this occasion and a documentary on Freedom Struggle was also shown to the
students of the Government school to educate, and inspire the students by
showcasing the sacrifices and struggles endured for independence. The Principal
of the school S. Bhupinder Singh welcomed and appreciated the efforts of the
cadets and LKCTC. The program ended by singing National Anthem. All the
teachers and students in the school enjoyed being the audience to this
spectacular event . S.Sukhbir Singh Chatha , Director, Academic Affairs and Dr. RS
Deol Director ,LKCTC encouraged the cadets and said that such events are the
need of the hour to celebrate the uniqueness and richness of India’s history and
culture and give it a tangible shape. The NCC Coordinator Ms Harbinder Kaur and
event coordinator Ms. Eesha Gill were commended for presenting the wonderful
virtual show that emphasized the need of maintaining peace and communal
harmony in the nation. The objective of this event was to instill a feeling of unity,
patriotism, national pride and a sense of belonging. After that a pledge ceremony
was done by the NCC cadets for the unity of the nation.

AWARENESS CAMP ON DRUG DE-ADDICTION

NSS COMMITTEE LKCTC

The NSS Committee of Lyallpur Khalsa College Technical Campus (LKCTC), Jalandhar, in
association with the Commissionerate Police, Jalandhar, organized an Awareness Camp on
Drug De-Addiction on 06 August 2026 to sensitize students about the harmful consequences
of drug abuse and encourage a healthy, responsible and drug-free lifestyle.
The programme commenced with a formal welcome of the distinguished police officials. Dr.
R. S. Deol, Director, LKCTC, urged students to shun drugs and channel their energy towards
education, personal growth and constructive pursuits.
The session was led by Sh. Satinder Singh, IPS, Commissioner of Police, Jalandhar, who
emphasized awareness, prevention and collective responsibility in combating drug abuse. He
encouraged students to stay away from addictive substances and become active ambassadors
of a drug-free society. The programme was also graced by Mrs. Akarshi Jain, IPS, ADCP-I,
Jalandhar Commissionerate, and Sh. Sukhwinder Singh, PPS, ADCP Headquarters, who
interacted with the students and highlighted the physical, psychological and social
consequences of substance abuse.
S. Sukhbir Singh Chatha, Director Academic Affairs, appreciated the initiative and
emphasized the important role of educational institutions in guiding youth towards positive
choices. Dr. R. S. Deol expressed gratitude to the Commissioner of Police and accompanying
officials for their valuable interaction with the students.
The programme was organized by the NSS Committee, LKCTC, with the organizing
committee comprising Dr. Nidhi Chopra, Dean Student Welfare, and Dr. Abhishek Sachdeva,
Assistant Director – Admissions & Outreach/Grievance. The event concluded with a strong
message: “Say No to Drugs – Choose a Healthy and Drug-Free Future.”
