The Department of Computer Science and Engineering, Lyallpur Khalsa College
Technical Campus, Jalandhar, successfully organized a Photography Contest to
encourage students to explore photography as a medium of creativity, observation, and visual
communication.
The contest provided students with a platform to capture their ideas and perspectives
through photographs. The topic was given on the spot, which encouraged participants to
think creatively and respond to the given theme within a limited time. Each participant was
allowed to submit one entry, ensuring that every photograph represented the individual
creativity and vision of the participant.
The activity helped students understand the importance of composition, framing,
perspective, lighting, observation, and visual storytelling. It also encouraged them to make
quick creative decisions and communicate a concept effectively through a single photograph.
Such activities provided students with practical exposure beyond the classroom and helped
them develop confidence in presenting their creative work.
The contest also promoted healthy competition and peer learning among students.
Participants had the opportunity to observe different creative approaches and understand how
the same subject could be interpreted from different perspectives.
S. Sukhbir Singh Chatha (Director of Academic Affairs at KCL Group) appreciated the
initiative and emphasized that such experiential learning opportunities help students discover
hidden talents and build confidence. Dr. R.S. Deol (Director, LKCTC) inspired students to
keep exploring creative avenues alongside their technical education, reminding them that
innovation often begins with imagination.
The event was organized under the guidance of Dr. Pooja Bhasin, Dean Academics/HOD
CSE, with Ms. Reetika Goel, A.P. CSE Department, as the Event Coordinator, and Mr.
Sandeep Singh, A.P. CSE Department, as the Event Co-Coordinator.
The Photography Contest successfully combined creativity, technical understanding, and
visual expression, giving students an engaging opportunity to strengthen their photography
skills and develop a more thoughtful approach to visual storytelling.

Department of Management of LKCTC organized Group Discussion on the topics “Entrepreneurship VS Job Security – Which Young Graduates choose” and “Is Gig Economy the Future of the Employment in India ” for the students of BCOM Semester V. The aim of the Group Discussion was to improve the communication and interpersonal Skills of the students and to provide them with platform to enhance their thinking and listening skills as well. The students shared their ideas with each other by speaking on the topic, thereby exhibiting their knowledge and by absorbing the thoughts of others which enhanced their learning, team spirit and speaking skills. The group discussion was organized by Ms. Aman Pasricha .
Some students discussed about Entrepreneurship vs. Job Security. Students shared their views on the advantages and challenges of entrepreneurship as well as the stability offered by traditional employment. They highlighted that entrepreneurship provides independence, innovation, flexibility and opportunities for wealth creation, while a job offers regular income, financial security and comparatively lower risk. The discussion enabled students to understand that career choices should be based on individual skills, interests, goals and risk-taking capacity. However, another group discussed the Gig Economy and its future in India. Students explored how freelancing, online platforms, delivery services, digital work and other flexible employment opportunities are changing the traditional employment landscape. They discussed the benefits of flexibility and increased employment opportunities along with challenges such as irregular income, limited job security and lack of conventional employee benefits.

Deol (Director, LKCTC) Stated that group discussions are important for the students as it promotes their confidence level and develops leadership qualities in them. Dr Inderpal Singh (Dean Research & Examination) presented vote of thanks and highly appreciated the event by stating that group discussion skills ensures academic success and helps in developing the overall personality of the students.

CAREER GAUNTLET – Mock Placement Drive was successfully organized by the Coding Club, Department of CSE, LKCTC, as a three-day initiative featuring Aptitude Test, Coding Test, and Mock Interview rounds. The Mock Interview was conducted by industry professionals from CS Soft Solutions, Mohali.
Harsh Mishra secured 1st position, Pankaj Randhawa 2nd, and Simon Paul 3rd. Respected Director of Academic Affairs, KCL Group, Sardar Sukhbir Singh Chatha, appreciated the initiative, while Hon’ble Director of LKCTC, Dr. R.S. Deol, congratulated the participants and encouraged students to strengthen their technical and professional skills.

Teachers’ Day Celebrated with Enthusiasm at the College
Teachers’ Day was celebrated with great enthusiasm and reverence at Lyallpur Khalsa
College Technical Campus to honour the invaluable contribution of teachers in shaping the
academic, professional, and personal lives of students.
The celebration was organised on the occasion of Teachers’ Day, commemorating the birth
anniversary of Dr. Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan, the renowned philosopher, scholar, former
President of India, and an eminent teacher. The programme highlighted the importance of
teachers as mentors, role models, and nation-builders.
The event commenced with a warm welcome to the faculty members and dignitaries.
Students expressed their gratitude towards their teachers through speeches, cultural
performances, presentations, and other engaging activities. The celebrations created a
joyful and memorable atmosphere across the campus.
The event was graced by the esteemed presence of Dr. R. S. Deol, Director, LKCTC, and S.
Sukhbir Singh Chatha, Director – Academic Affairs, KCL Group, appreciated the dedication
and commitment of the faculty members towards teaching and student development. The
address emphasised that education is not merely the transfer of knowledge but also the
development of values, discipline, critical thinking, and responsible citizenship. The
programme was coordinated by Mr. Amandeep Paul, HOD and Mr. Fakir Chand with Mr.
Jatinder singh serving as Co-Coordinator.

Voter Registration Camp organised at Lyallpur Khalsa College Technical Campus
The Electoral Literacy Club (ELC) of Lyallpur Khalsa College Technical Campus (LKCTC),
Jalandhar, organised a Voter Registration Camp on 1 st and 3 rd September , 2026, at the college
campus to facilitate eligible students in registering themselves as voters.
The camp was organised with the objective of creating awareness among young students
about the importance of electoral participation and facilitating the registration of students
who had attained the age of 18 years or would attain the age of 18 years on or before October
1, 2026.
During the camp, students were guided through the online voter registration process and were
provided assistance regarding the necessary documentation and procedural requirements.
Student volunteers actively supported the organising team in guiding students and ensuring
the smooth conduct of the registration process.
The camp witnessed enthusiastic participation from the students. The initiative aimed to
encourage young citizens to understand their democratic rights and responsibilities and to
become active participants in the electoral process.
The programme was conducted under the guidance of the college authorities and coordinated
by Er. Silky Khurana, Coordinator, Electoral Literacy Club (ELC).
Director Academic Affairs, S. Sukhbir Singh Chatha, and Director LKCTC, Dr. R.S. Deol,

Expert Talk on “Advances in Surface Engineering” Held at LKCTC
The Department of Mechanical Engineering, Lyallpur Khalsa College Technical Campus (LKCTC), organised an expert talk on “Advances in Surface Engineering” for students of Mechanical Engineering and Automobile Engineering.
The lecture was delivered by Dr. Amit Bansal, Assistant Professor, PIT Hoshiarpur Campus. Dr. Bansal, an alumnus of IIT Roorkee, has extensive teaching and research experience in manufacturing science, materials processing and surface engineering.
During the session, Dr. Bansal highlighted the importance of surface treatments in Mechanical and Automobile Engineering, particularly in enhancing the wear resistance, durability, corrosion resistance and service life of engineering components. He elaborated on thermal spray coatings and their industrial applications and also discussed microwave processing of materials, including joining, cladding and casting.
The session provided students with valuable exposure to emerging technologies and their practical applications in modern engineering.
The Department expressed its sincere gratitude to S. Sukhbir Singh Chatha, Director, Academic Affairs KCL Group,,and Dr. R.S.
