Smart Library Seat Management Portal Developed by Our First-Year Students at NIT Jalandhar
To make library seating more organized and convenient for students, our first-year B.Tech students of Dr. B. R. Ambedkar National Institute of Technology Jalandhar have developed a Library Seat Management Portal as part of the Design Thinking and Industrial Innovation (DTI) Course Laboratory.
The portal enables students to book library seats using their Institute ID cards, check real-time seat availability, and release seats when they leave.

🔹 Benefits of the System
✅ Eliminates confusion in finding vacant seats
✅ Provides real-time seat availability
✅ Promotes efficient utilization of library seating space
✅ Makes the process quick, transparent, and user-friendly

The project was developed under the guidance of Dr. Dushyant Singh and Prof. Raman Bedi, Dean (Academic Administration), by the students of SG-6 DTI Lab (Session 2025–26): Priyanshu Bansal (Mechanical Engineering), Vaibhav Jindal (Computer Science and Engineering), Unnat Singh (Computer Science and Engineering), and Utkarsh Sharma (Electronics Engineering).
This project is an excellent example of how students are applying their technical knowledge and creativity to develop practical solutions that enhance campus facilities and improve the overall student experience.
