TB Diagnosis Camp and Poster Making Competition Organised at HMV Jalandhar

Hans Raj Mahila Maha Vidyalaya, Jalandhar organised a TB Diagnosis Camp on 18 August 2026 in collaboration with Civil Hospital, Jalandhar. The camp was jointly organised by the NSS, NCC and Red Ribbon Club of the college with the objective of spreading awareness about Tuberculosis (TB), its early detection, prevention and timely treatment.Principal Dr. Ekta Khosla appreciated the efforts of the organisers and encouraged students to actively participate in health-awareness initiatives.
The camp was organised under the able guidance of Dr. Rajesh Garg, Civil Surgeon, Jalandhar, Dr. Meera Wadyal, Assistant Health Officer, Dr. Paramvir Singh, District TB Officer, and Ms. Neelam. Principal .
During the camp, students , Faculty and hostel,mess & Canteen worker,sweepers were screened for TB and were provided medical guidance by the health department team. The participants were also made aware of the symptoms of TB, preventive measures, early diagnosis and the importance of completing the prescribed treatment.
As part of the awareness campaign, a Poster Making Competition on TB awareness was also conducted. Students enthusiastically participated in the competition and conveyed important messages related to TB prevention and awareness through their creative posters.
The winners of the Poster Making Competition were:
First Prize: Sanjivni Thakur, BFA Semester 3
Second Prize: Anjali Kumari, BFA Semester 7
Third Prize: Manisha, BFA Semester 1
The programme was coordinated by Dr. Jyoti Gogia, NSS Programme Officer, Ms. Kuljit Kaur, Ms. Harmanu, Ms. Sonia Mahendru, NCC, Mrs. Purnima, NCC, Dr. Deepali, Red Ribbon Club, and Dr. Sandeep, NSS.
The initiative successfully combined health screening with creative awareness activities and conveyed the important message of early detection, prevention and treatment of Tuberculosis. The active participation of students and staff contributed significantly to making the programme meaningful and successful.

HMV Hosts “SHE SERVES” in collaboration with National Commission for Women— Empowering Young Women with Awareness, Confidence & Courage

Hans Raj Mahila Maha Vidyalaya, Jalandhar, under the guidance of Principal Dr. Ekta Khosla, organised the national-level “SHE SERVES” programme in collaboration with the National Commission for Women (NCW).

The programme aimed to sensitise young women about opportunities in the defence services and the Indian Armed Forces.

The event was graced by Smt. Vijaya Rahatkar, Hon’ble Chairperson, National Commission for Women, who inspired the students with her powerful message to serve the nation, highlighting the need to equip young women with awareness, confidence and the spirit of Nari Shakti.

Colonel Rashmi Narayan inspired the young audience through her exemplary journey of courage, discipline and dedicated service to the nation, encouraging them to aspire for leadership and careers in the defence forces.
Lieutenant Sonia sensitised students about the SHE SERVES initiative and the growing opportunities for women in the armed forces.

The interactive programme witnessed enthusiastic student participation, with meaningful discussions on women’s rights, safety, empowerment and career opportunities in defence services.

The programme was coordinated by Dr. Anjana Bhatia, IQAC Coordinator, and Dr. Protima Mander, In-charge, Women Empowerment Cell.

Van Mahotsav Celebration at HMV Jalandhar

Hans Raj Mahila Maha Vidyalaya, Jalandhar organized a Van Mahotsav Celebration in collaboration with the NSS and NCC units of the college. The programme aimed to create awareness among students about environmental conservation, afforestation and the importance of protecting our natural resources.
The programme was graced by Chief Guest S. Hargurnek Singh Randhawa, Range Forest Officer, Jalandhar, along with S. Puneet from the Forest Department. S. Hargurnek Singh Randhawa motivated the students to grow more plants and emphasized that planting trees is not only our responsibility but also an essential step towards ensuring a greener and healthier future. He encouraged the students to actively participate in plantation drives and to take proper care of the plants after planting them.
Dr. Ekta Khosla, Principal, appreciated the collaborative efforts of the NSS and NCC units and encouraged students to actively participate in environmental protection initiatives.
The programme was coordinated by NSS Programme Officer Dr. Jyoti Gogia, along with Ms. Kuljit Kaur and Ms. Harmanu. The NCC In-charges, Ms. Sonia Mohendru and Mrs. Purnima, also played an active role in the successful conduct of the programme.
A special feature of the celebration was the NSS-NCC collaboration, through which students and volunteers participated enthusiastically in plantation and environmental awareness activities. The initiative highlighted the collective responsibility of educational institutions and students towards creating a greener and healthier environment.
The programme concluded with a pledge to plant more trees, protect the environment and inspire others to contribute towards a sustainable and greener future.

🇮🇳 Celebrating the Spirit of 80th Independence Day at HMV, Jalandhar 🇮🇳

HMV, Jalandhar celebrated Independence Day with great patriotic fervour and enthusiasm under the able guidance of Principal Dr. (Mrs.) Ekta Khosla, reflecting the spirit of a progressive and Viksit Bharat @2047. The event was organised by PG Department of Political Science, NCC and History Department.The celebrations commenced with NCC cadets escorting Principal Dr. (Mrs.) Ekta Khosla for the ceremonial unfurling of the National Flag. Dr. Ekta motivated students by referring to Hon’ble Prime Minister’s Independence Day address highlighting the pivotal role of youth in nation-building, encouraging them to embrace entrepreneurship, innovation and self-employment. She emphasised upon women empowerment and celebrating a civilisation where the feminine has traditionally been revered as the embodiment of wisdom, bravery and prosperity. In addition she also encouraged the students to inculcate the values of patriotism, responsibility, discipline and service to the nation, reminding them that the future of India rests in their hands.

Students of HMV Collegiate School recited a poem and presented the glorious journey of India from 1857 Revolt towards 2047 Viksit Bharat. Dr. Gunjan and students of Music Vocal Department dedicated a melody to our beloved Tiranga ‘Vijay vishva tiranga pyara Jhanda uncha rahy humara’. The Student Council paid tribute to the great freedom fighters whose courage and sacrifice shaped our nation. Jahnavi of MA Political Science Sem-I shared a poem that a new nation has already begun to take shape through the energy, ambition and determination of India’s youth. Students pledged to become responsible citizens and contribute meaningfully towards the vision of Viksit Bharat @2047.

The celebrations concluded on a stirring patriotic note with the National Anthem, reaffirming our collective resolve to build a stronger, empowered and developed India.
