TB Diagnosis Camp and Poster Making Competition Organised at HMV Jalandhar
Hans Raj Mahila Maha Vidyalaya, Jalandhar organised a TB Diagnosis Camp on 18 August 2026 in collaboration with Civil Hospital, Jalandhar. The camp was jointly organised by the NSS, NCC and Red Ribbon Club of the college with the objective of spreading awareness about Tuberculosis (TB), its early detection, prevention and timely treatment.Principal Dr. Ekta Khosla appreciated the efforts of the organisers and encouraged students to actively participate in health-awareness initiatives.
The camp was organised under the able guidance of Dr. Rajesh Garg, Civil Surgeon, Jalandhar, Dr. Meera Wadyal, Assistant Health Officer, Dr. Paramvir Singh, District TB Officer, and Ms. Neelam. Principal .
During the camp, students , Faculty and hostel,mess & Canteen worker,sweepers were screened for TB and were provided medical guidance by the health department team. The participants were also made aware of the symptoms of TB, preventive measures, early diagnosis and the importance of completing the prescribed treatment.
As part of the awareness campaign, a Poster Making Competition on TB awareness was also conducted. Students enthusiastically participated in the competition and conveyed important messages related to TB prevention and awareness through their creative posters.
The winners of the Poster Making Competition were:
First Prize: Sanjivni Thakur, BFA Semester 3
Second Prize: Anjali Kumari, BFA Semester 7
Third Prize: Manisha, BFA Semester 1
The programme was coordinated by Dr. Jyoti Gogia, NSS Programme Officer, Ms. Kuljit Kaur, Ms. Harmanu, Ms. Sonia Mahendru, NCC, Mrs. Purnima, NCC, Dr. Deepali, Red Ribbon Club, and Dr. Sandeep, NSS.
The initiative successfully combined health screening with creative awareness activities and conveyed the important message of early detection, prevention and treatment of Tuberculosis. The active participation of students and staff contributed significantly to making the programme meaningful and successful.
