Society of Mechanical Engineers, NIT Jalandhar The Society of Mechanical Engineers(SOME) is the official departmental Society of the Mechanical Eng for upgrading the technical knowledge of students.

Objectives-

The main objectives of the Society are:
•To raise and maintain high standard of education by interaction.
•To establish relationship with industry for the benefit of students.
•To establish and maintain contact among students, teaching staff and industry not only at the regional level but also at the national level.
•To organize national level technical workshops /seminars /conference

/symposiums, exhibitions etc. Activities-

The Society has been promoting interaction among the industry, students and the Institute to enhance the cause of technical education. The Society has arranged several industrial visits and conducted various seminars, lectures and workshops from time to time.
