Civil Engineering Department, LKCTC successfully submitted a detailed report on Implementation of Bus rapid transit system (BRTS) in Jalandhar to the Mayor, Municipal Corporation Jalandhar.
It is a matter of pride for our college that our team met Mayor of Municipality Corporation Jalandhar HonorableSh. Jagdish Raj Raja and submitted them a report on Bus Rapid Transit System "BRTS Jalandhar". This report was prepared byCivil Engineering Department of Lyallpur Khalsa College Technical Campus.
In order to minimize the traffic on the roads, we have to change the vision and mindset of people, rather than constructing a flyover or underpass that are not going to solve anything, it will just invite more traffic. So, to minimize the increasing traffic issues, we need to promote the new public transportation system that is the Bus Rapid Transit System in our city. Additionally, to give live exposure to the students, they were taken by HOD Civil Engineering DepartmentEr. Tarundeep Singh and Assistant Professor Er. Gagan Deep to a different road site. Moreover, it is our responsibility towards society. The team made visual inspection on roads and measured its length and clicked photographs of each road section along with prepared six corridors in addition to the Layout of BRT Corridor Jalandhar. Later on, the whole team worked with full dedication to prepare the report on it.
On Monday, 9th August, 2022, we got an opportunity to meet Mayor MC Jalandhar and submit the Report for the same. The team discussed with him the report which includes the six corridors sections with proper route plan along with the Centre, Side and Mixed Layout of BRT Corridor Jalandhar. He appreciated our efforts and encouraged our team to work for such noble causes.
We are also grateful to our worthy Director Academics Affairs, KCL Group, S. Sukhbir Singh Chatha, who has always inspired the faculty and students to work dedicatedly and get involved in such tasks. We are extremely beholden to our worthy Deputy Director Academics Affairs, KCL Group, Dr. R.S Deol, who constantly encourages us time to time to participate in such tasks so that students can learn from real practical examples which will play vital role in their professional lives.
