IIM Jammu @ 10 | A Decade of Excellence, Innovation & Impact

The Indian Institute of Management Jammu celebrated its 10th anniversary at Mandapam, IIM Jammu, on 22 August 2026, marking a decade of excellence, innovation, research, leadership and meaningful impact. The day-long celebration brought together distinguished representatives from government, academia and industry, along with the Board of Governors, faculty, officers, staff, alumni, students and institutional partners.

The inaugural session was graced by Shri Manoj Sinha Ji, Hon’ble Lieutenant Governor of Jammu & Kashmir, as the Chief Guest. The ceremony was presided over by Padma Shri Dr. Milind Kamble, Chairman, BoG, IIM Jammu, and was attended by Shri Shriram Dandekar, Former Chairman, Board of Governors, IIM Jammu, along with Prof. B.S. Sahay, Director, IIM Jammu and Prof. Jabir Ali, Dean, Faculty & Research, IIM Jammu.The 10th Anniversary celebrations of IIM Jammu commenced with a Lamp Lighting Ceremony and Saraswati Vandana, marking a decade of growth, excellence and nation-building.

The Hon’ble Lieutenant Governor of Jammu & Kashmir and Chief Guest, Shri Manoj Sinha Ji, congratulated IIM Jammu on completing a remarkable decade of excellence and impact, applauding its steadfast contribution to nation-building, advancement of management education, & its growing role in shaping visionary, responsible leaders for the future.

Shri Shriram Dandekar, Former Chairman, BoG, recalled the challenges of building the 220-acre Jagti campus and acknowledged the collective efforts that made IIM Jammu’s journey possible.

Dr. Milind Kamble, Chairman, BoG, mentioned about the modest beginnings to a growing institution of national significance, the journey of IIM Jammu is a testament to vision, perseverance, & collective resolve, building an institution that aspires not merely to educate, but to create leaders who contribute meaningfully to nation-building.

Prof. B.S. Sahay, Director, IIM Jammu, reflected on the journey from 47 to 1,400+, the numbers tell a story of scale, but the true journey is one of vision, resilience, transformation & an unwavering commitment to shaping leaders for a changing India and the world.

Shri Shiv Shivakumar, Operating Partner, Advent International, emphasised that the future of management education lies not in quantity, but in quality driven by global exposure, meaningful international collaborations & the ability to navigate an increasingly uncertain world.

Shri Anand Kripalu, Operating Partner, Kedaara Capital and BoG Member, shared powerful lessons on excellence, resilience and lifelong learning, inspiring the next generation to “Believe in the India story” &, above all, “Win, but win the right way.”

The programme concluded with the Vote of Thanks by Dr Anuja Akhouri, faculty, IIM Jammu, expressing gratitude to the dignitaries, faculty, students and everyone who contributed to the celebration.

At the 10th Anniversary celebrations of IIM Jammu, Shri Anand Kripalu, Operating Partner, Kedaara Capital and Member, Board of Governors, IIM Jammu, shared powerful lessons drawn from a distinguished career built on excellence, resilience, learning and purpose.

His message to the next generation was simple yet profound: success is not about how fast you begin, but how meaningfully you sustain the journey.

“Careers are not sprints, they are marathons.”

He urged young professionals to excel in whatever role they hold today, embrace failures as opportunities to learn, and step beyond classrooms and boardrooms to gain first-hand experience of how organisations truly function.

He reminded the audience that some of life’s greatest lessons emerge from unexpected experiences, and that the hunger to learn, the courage to persevere and the desire to make a difference can shape a career far more profoundly than any predefined roadmap.

His call to the next generation was equally inspiring: believe in the India story, create lasting impact, build a legacy, and strive not merely to win, but to “win the right way.”

IIM Jammu @ 10 | A Decade of Excellence, Milestones & Nation Building

Ten years. One transformative journey. Countless milestones. An enduring commitment to excellence and impact.

From its humble beginnings in 2016 to emerging as a dynamic institution with a growing national and global footprint, IIM Jammu’s illustrious journey reflects a decade of academic excellence, pioneering research, innovation, entrepreneurship, industry engagement and institutional growth.

At the Press Conference held on 20 August 2026 at the Artha Classroom, Vedanta MDP Block, IIM Jammu, Prof. B. S. Sahay, Director, IIM Jammu, shared the Institute’s remarkable ten-year journey, landmark achievements, transformative initiatives and vision for the decade ahead. The Press Conference was graced by the presence of Prof. (Dr.).Shakti Kumar Gupta, Honorary Distinguished Professor; Prof. Jabir Ali, Dean, Faculty & Research; Prof. Nitin Upadhyay, Dean Academics; Prof. (Dr.) Lt. Gen. (Retd.) Sunil Kant, Chairperson, MBA Healthcare, IIM Jammu; and Shri Shailesh K. Lohiya, Librarian, IIM Jammu, who shared their valuable insights and perspectives on IIM Jammu’s illustrious ten-year journey, its key milestones and the Institute’s vision for the decade ahead.

Over the years, IIM Jammu has evolved beyond classrooms and campuses to become a catalyst for knowledge creation, innovation, entrepreneurship and socio-economic development. Its Centres of Excellence, are creating dedicated platforms for research, capacity building, innovation and societal engagement, addressing contemporary challenges and strengthening the Institute’s contribution to nation building.

As IIM Jammu celebrates its 10th Anniversary on 22 August 2026, the occasion will bring together eminent dignitaries, policymakers, industry leaders, academicians, Board members, alumni, faculty, staff and students to celebrate the journey, honour the milestones and envision the future.

The next decade will be about moving from growth to greater impact strengthening research excellence, innovation, entrepreneurship, global partnerships, industry–academia collaboration and future-ready leadership, while contributing meaningfully to the socio-economic transformation of Jammu & Kashmir and the nation.

Aligned with the national vision of , IIM Jammu remains committed to nurturing responsible leaders, creating impactful knowledge and building an institution that contributes not only to management education, but to the larger journey of nation building.
