A 10 day Faculty development programme was successfully conducted at the Rajiv Gandhi College of Nursing,Jammu .
Under the guidance of Renowned resource person Prof.O.P Sharma focusing on key educational, philosophical, psychological and contemporary themes to educators and paramedical professional.
The programme began with sessions on educational and learning aspects, different forms of education and personality development,laying a strong academic foundation.
Subsequent days covered important topics such as knowledge,the process and sources of education and an in-depth understanding of philosophy further sessions included social aspects, psychology,role of education in understanding human behaviour and society.
Special emphasis were laid on modern advancements including artificial intelligence in paramedical sciences,automation of Administrative tasks and effective academic planning and time management by Prof Dr Mool Raj Sharma and Prof Nishta Rana from (Higher education department).
Mr O.P Sharma's scholarly approach, clarity of concepts and engaging style made the programme very informative and impactful.Faculty members and participants actively took part contributing to overall success of the event.

*Rajiv Gandhi College of Nursing observed *Constitution Day (Samvidhan Diwas)* with great enthusiasm and active participation from students and faculty members.

The programme aimed to create awareness about the significance of the Indian Constitution and its core valuesβ€”justice, liberty, equality, and fraternity.

Mrs. Diksha Sharma, Lecturer, RGCN, addressed the gathering and delivered an informative session on the importance of Constitution Day, the vision of the Constitution-makers, the Preamble, and the Fundamental Rights and Duties.

She also highlighted the vital role of youth in strengthening democracy.

A Book Fair was successfully organized at Rajiv Gandhi College of Nursing, Jammu, on 24th November 2025 as part of the institution’s ongoing efforts to enhance academic excellence and promote a culture of reading among Nursing and Paramedical students.

The event brought together esteemed publishers, including JP Books, Vision Publishers, and CBS Publishers, who showcased a comprehensive collection of medical, nursing, and allied health science literature.

The fair provided students and faculty with access to the latest editions, standard reference books, examination guides, and supplemental academic materials relevant to the evolving needs of nursing education.

Attendees had the opportunity to interact with representatives from the publishing houses and gain insights into newly released textbooks and updated academic resources.

The initiative was well-received by the academic community and contributed significantly to fostering a supportive learning environment within the college.

The Government Medical College (GMC) Jammu organized the *World Diabetes Day* celebration with a series of academic and creative activities.

The event featured an inter-college Rangoli Competition, Poster Making Competition, and Quiz Competition, aimed at promoting diabetes awareness and encouraging active student participation.

The programme was held in the esteemed presence *Dr. Ashutosh Gupta, the Medical Superintendent of GMC Jammu* , *the Heads of the Departments of Medicine and Endocrinology, along with other dignitaries.*

As part of the observance, *Dr. Suman Kotwal (HOD, Endocrinology), Dr. Atul, and Dr. Fayaz Ahmed (HOD, Medicine)* delivered informative lectures on Diabetes Day, highlighting the importance of early diagnosis, preventive measures, and appropriate management of diabetes.

Their insights significantly enriched the academic value of the event.

Participants from various collegesβ€” *Rajiv Gandhi College of Nursing Jammu, Bee Enn College of Nursing Jammu, IPHH College, BMS College, and AMT School of Nursingβ€”* actively took part in all competitions, showcasing creativity, knowledge, and awareness regarding diabetes.

Rajiv Gandhi College of Nursing, ChakbhalwalJammu, organized an educational seminar on World Diabetes Day 2025 based on this year’s global theme, β€œDiabetes & Wellbeing.”

The event was organized by the Literary Committee and aimed to promote awareness, early prevention, and holistic wellbeing in relation to diabetes.

The programme was started by anchor Mrs. Shilpa (Lecturer, RGCN) with a welcome address by Mrs. Diksha (Lecturer, RGCN) Mrs. Anjana Bavouria (Director RGCN), presented Bouquet to our guest speaker Dr. Akoijam Sangita Devi, Assistant Professor, BGSBU College of Nursing, Jammu Ms. Aasia Manzoor (Clinical instructor,RGCN)) unfolded the theme, emphasizing the role of lifestyle, mental health, and preventive strategies in managing diabetes across all age groups.

The highlight of the event was an insightful guest lecture delivered by Dr. Akoijam Sangita Devi, Assistant Professor, BGSBU College of Nursing, Jammu, on β€œDiabetes Across Life Stages.”

Dr. Sangita discussed the increasing prevalence of diabetes, risk factors, early signs, and the importance of health education, balanced nutrition, and community-based interventions.

Her session was followed by an interactive discussion, where students actively participated and clarified queries.
Mrs. Anjana Bavouria (Director RGCN), addressed the gathering and encouraged students to become responsible healthcare professionals who can contribute to community awareness and patient care.

He emphasized the importance of adopting healthy lifestyle practices to prevent lifestyle-related diseases.

The programme concluded with a valedictory session led by and Mrs. Anjana Bavouria,(Director RGCN), followed by a Vote of Thanks delivered by Ms. Shrista, expressing gratitude to the guest speaker, faculty, and organizing committee for their contributions.

The event ended with a lunch gathering.
