XLRI Jamshedpur, in collaboration with the Government of Jharkhand, has taken a significant step towards strengthening the state’s innovation and entrepreneurship ecosystem by supporting a Startup Incubation Centre under JIIDCO and undertaking a focused study on circular economy and forest-based enterprises.

As part of this partnership, XLRI will conduct a six-month scoping study across two critical thematic areas: circular economy enterprises (with a primary focus on MSMEs) and non-timber forest product (NTFP)-based enterprises. The study aims to identify sustainable and scalable opportunities in areas such as agro-processing, recycling, and waste-to-wealth initiatives, while promoting inclusive development rooted in local culture and livelihoods.

XLRI will contribute its academic expertise, mentorship ecosystem, and institutional capabilities to support startup incubation, entrepreneurship training, investor connect, and institutional guidance across Jharkhand. The initiative will also support the identification and incubation of 100 enterprises focused on circular economy and NTFP-based opportunities in the state.

By bringing together academia and government, this collaboration reflects a shared commitment towards sustainable enterprise development, innovation-led growth, and meaningful employment generation for the youth of Jharkhand.
