SVEEP Awareness Activities Organized at Maharaja Agrasen College for Women, Jhajjar
In compliance with the directions of the Election Commission of India and the District Election Office, Jhajjar, Maharaja Agrasen College for Women, Jhajjar organized a series of voter awareness activities under the Systematic Voters’ Education and Electoral Participation (SVEEP) programme as part of the Special Intensive Revision (SIR)-2026 of Electoral Rolls.
The objective of the programme was to create awareness among students, faculty members, and the general public about voter registration, correction of electoral details, and the importance of active participation in the democratic process. As part of the campaign, voter awareness flexes, posters, banners, and other publicity materials were displayed across the college campus. Students were encouraged to ensure that their names were included in the electoral roll and were motivated to participate actively in the electoral process.
Dr. Chitralekha, SVEEP Nodal Officer of the College, addressed the students and emphasized that voting is not only a constitutional right but also a fundamental civic responsibility. She informed them about the Special Intensive Revision-2026 and urged all eligible voters to get their names enrolled in the electoral roll and rectify any discrepancies within the stipulated time. She also encouraged the students to spread awareness among their family members, neighbours, and the wider community to promote informed and responsible electoral participation.
Principal Dr. Neelam Garg highlighted that the strength of a democracy depends upon aware and responsible citizens. She motivated the students to uphold democratic values and actively contribute to building a culture of informed voting and electoral participation in society.
The programme was successfully conducted under the guidance of Dr. Chitralekha, SVEEP Nodal Officer, with the active support and cooperation of the college faculty and staff.
