The Valedictory Session and Award Ceremony of the National Seminar “Evolving Dimensions of Forensic Science in Modern Crime Investigation (EDFMCI-2026)”, organized by the Department of Forensic Science, Bundelkhand University, Jhansi, was held at Gandhi Auditorium. The seminar brought together eminent forensic scientists, academicians, researchers, and students from across India to deliberate on emerging technologies and challenges in modern crime investigation.

I express my sincere gratitude to our Hon’ble Vice Chancellor Prof. Mukesh Pandey sir for his visionary leadership and constant encouragement that made this national seminar possible.

We were honoured by the presence of Chief Guest Dr. Adarsh Kumar, Director, FSL Uttar Pradesh, and Guests of Honour Dr. Ajay Sharma, Director FSL Rajasthan, and Dr. Meenakshi Mahajan, Director FSL Himachal Pradesh, who also delivered an inspiring keynote lecture highlighting the vital role of forensic science in the pursuit of truth and justice.

The seminar featured insightful lectures by eminent experts including Prof. Gyaneshwar Chaubey, Dr. Neeraj Rai, Dr. R. K. Sarin, Prof. Mukesh Kumar Thakkar, Dr. Shaloo Malik, Prof. Amit Dubey, Prof. Rajinder Singh Chandel, Dr. Ankit Srivastava, Dr. Rajesh Yadav, Dr. Pankaj Srivastava, Dr. Kumar Askand Pandey, and Dr. Jaison Sequeria, covering diverse areas such as population genetics, ancient DNA, cybercrime investigation, voice evidence, and forensic DNA analysis.

The event also included engaging technical sessions, poster presentations, and award distribution among faculty members, research scholars, and students.

My heartfelt thanks to all speakers, participants, collaborators, and especially the dedicated student volunteers and organizing team whose tireless efforts made EDFMCI-2026 a memorable academic gathering.

The organizing committee of the National Seminar on Evolving Dimensions of Forensic Science in Modern Crime Investigation (EDFMCI-2026) is pleased to announce that the last date for Registration and Abstract Submission has been extended until 05 March 2026.
This extension has been provided considering the requests from researchers, academicians, professionals, and students who expressed their interest in participating in the seminar. 🔍 “Shaping Justice with Science: Career, Challenges, and Opportunities in Modern Forensic Science — A New Era under the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita (BNSS), 2023”

by Dr. Nawab John Dar, Postdoctoral Scientist, Salk Institute, San Diego, California, USA, was successfully conducted today at the Departmental Auditorium, Institute of Forensic Science and Criminology.

Dr. Dar delivered an insightful and inspiring session, highlighting the evolving forensic landscape, emerging research avenues, and the significance of BNSS, 2023 in strengthening scientific justice in India. His journey and achievements provided great motivation for our students and young researchers.

Today, the students and faculty members of Dr. A. P. J. Abdul Kalam Institute of Forensic Science and Criminology, Bundelkhand University, Jhansi, participated in an educational visit to the exhibition on the New Criminal Laws organized by the State Forensic Science Laboratory, Jaipur, Rajasthan.

The exhibition provided an excellent platform to understand the key aspects and practical implications of the recently enacted criminal laws—Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita (BNSS), and Bharatiya Sakshya Adhiniyam (BSA). The event highlighted the evolving landscape of the Indian criminal justice system and its alignment with contemporary forensic and investigative practices.

Valedictory Ceremony of Forensic Science Week – Gyanprabha 2025 🌟

The week-long celebration of learning, exploration, and excellence at the Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam Institute of Forensic Science and Criminology concluded with a vibrant Valedictory Ceremony that truly reflected the spirit of our students.

The event was graced by the Hon’ble Vice Chancellor, Prof. Mukesh Pandey Sir, who in his Presidential Address applauded the students for their hard work, dedication, and creativity displayed throughout the Forensic Science Week. His words of encouragement served as an inspiration for all to continue striving for academic and professional excellence.

We were also honored by the presence of our Guest of Honor, Dr. Rajesh Singh, Additional Director, SFSL Jaipur, who enlightened the gathering by connecting the students’ case study presentations to real-world forensic investigations. His insights provided immense value, motivating our budding forensic experts to think beyond the classroom.
