National Anti child labour Day on 30th April
Children should be carrying books, not bricks. They should be playing with footballs, not stitching them. They should be sitting inside classrooms, instead of sweeping them. April 30, is Anti-Child Labour Day.......
children get the 4 basic rights guaranteed to them by the United Nations Charter of Child Rights, 1992*.
• Right to Survival – to life, health, nutrition, name, nationality
• Right to Protection - from exploitation, abuse, neglect
• Right to Development - to education, care, leisure and
recreation
• Right to Participation - to expression, information, thought, religion.
...............................Child Labour:.........................................
- Child labour is a business term which means to employ children at work below the age that has been demarcated by the government.
- "The child is the father of man." This famous line quoted by William Wordsworth refers to the importance of the child for the development of society as well as for the all-round development of the human race. We should never ignore the fact that child is the purest form of God. His innocence brings us closer to the almighty.
- Child labourers are exploited, exposed to hazardous work conditions and paid a pittance for their long hours of work. They belong to the unorganized labour force.
- Our government has laid down various guidelines to eradicate and finish the custom of child labour from the grass root level.
a. No child below the age of 14 years shall be employed to work in any hazardous employment
b. Childhood and youth are to be protected against exploitation and against moral and material abandonment.
c. The State shall endeavour to provide within a period of 10 year from the commencement of the Constitution free and compulsory education for all children until they have completed the age of 14 years.
- Due to poverty poor parents put their children to work in order to supplement the family's economic status. This compulsion forces the parents to forget that every child has his right to enjoy his childhood.
- There are more than 250million child labourers in our country.

Celebrated every year on April 22, Earth Day aims to encourage people across the world to be more environmentally friendly.
The very first event for Earth Day, which was held in America nearly five decades ago following a devastating oil spill, is credited as the beginning of the modern environmental movement.
On April 22, at least 130 countries are set to sign the Paris Agreement on climate change.
The historic agreement, which was adopted by consensus in the French capital in December, will be deposited at the United Nations in New York in a bid to get other countries to sign up to it.

Ambedkar Jayanti is celebrated on 14 April to observe the birthday of Baba Saheb Bhimrao Ambedkar. He was born on the same day in 1891 to Ramji Ambadvekar and Bhimabai.

Baba Saheb greatly contributed to the nation as a jurist, philosopher, politician, anthropologist, economist and historian.

He was appointed as the first law minister of the independent India. He also contributed to drafting the Constitution of India, serving as the Chairman of the Drafting Committee from 29 August 1947 to 24 January 1950.

Baba Saheb held a strong notion against the social divisions prevailing in the country at that time. He organised campaigns to spread words of equality and annihilate the Indian caste system.

Due to deteriorating health, Baba Saheb died on 6 December 1956.

Celebration Mass celebrations are held across the country on this day to pay homage to B. R. Ambedkar for his splendid contribution in preparing the Constitution of India. Every year a special event is organised in his honour at the Parliament of India. At the event, prominent leaders pay homage to his statue. The celebrations include activities like dance, painting, debate, dramatics, essay writing, as well as sports.
