From textured art and experimental compositions to unique visual concepts, the exhibition brought together a beautiful collection of ideas, perspectives, and stories - each artwork reflecting the individuality of its creator.

Deeksharambh 2026 | TOOFAN: Against Drug Abuse
Clay Stop Motion Bootcamp

As part of Day 8 of Deeksharambh 2026, students participated in a Clay Stop Motion Bootcamp under the TOOFAN: Against Drug Abuse initiative, supporting Kerala's mission to build a drug-free society.

Coordinated by Mr. Abin Jose, Mr. J. K. Zachariah, Mr. Vignesh, and Mr. Kuttu Shaji, students used clay to sculpt characters and create powerful stop-motion animations that spread awareness about the harmful effects of drug abuse. Through teamwork, storytelling, and animation, they transformed an important social message into engaging visual narratives.

Compassionate Connections – Learning for a Better World

Day 7 of Deeksharambh 2026 at the School of Design, Media & Creative Arts began with a thought-provoking screening of the 2008 film The Boy in the Striped Pyjamas, led by the Filmmaking programme under the guidance of Dr. Vijay Srinivasan, Mr. Jijin P. K., and Mr. Jeevak Anil Prasad.

The screening was followed by an engaging discussion where students explored the film's narrative, characters, visual storytelling, and ethical themes. Through meaningful conversations, they reflected on empathy, compassion, prejudice, humanity, and the importance of building an inclusive and respectful society.

More than just a film screening, the session encouraged students to think critically, engage with diverse perspectives, and embrace the universal human values that shape responsible individuals and compassionate communities. 🎬✨

Abstract Art Inspired by the SDGs

Day 7 of Deeksharambh 2026 concluded with a creative exploration of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) through abstract art, led by Ms. Lakshmi, Mr. Birendra, and Mr. Dev.

Using cardboard and foam boards, students worked in teams to create abstract faces that told meaningful stories inspired by the SDGs. Each group then presented their artwork, sharing the ideas and values behind their creations.

Deeksharambh 2026 | Creativity Through Collaboration
Pixel Art Challenge

As part of Deeksharambh 2026, students put their creativity and teamwork to the test in the Pixel Art Challenge, coordinated by Mr. Vishnu, Mr. Birendra.

Students were divided into two teams, each exploring pixel art through a different medium. One team used ribbons woven through a grid mesh to create vibrant pixelated designs, while the other transformed coloured paper squares on a black canvas into striking pixel art compositions.

The activity encouraged students to think creatively within constraints, collaborate with their peers, and discover how simple materials can come together to create bold visual expressions.

Cardboard Furniture Workshop

As part of Deeksharambh 2026, students of School of Design, Media and Creative Arts explored sustainable design through an engaging workshop led by Mr. Shine from Art Planet Kochi, alongside Dr. Lakshmi Devi from the Department of Marine Science.

Using discarded cardboard boxes, students designed and built functional furniture, discovering how everyday waste can be transformed into practical, creative solutions. The hands-on workshop encouraged design thinking, teamwork, and a deeper appreciation for sustainability.

A reminder that great design isn't about using more—it's about making more with what we already have. ♻️✨
