Semester Break Begins at Sanskrit University

The semester break for students of Sree Sankaracharya University of Sanskrit, Kalady, will be from August 22 to 31, 2026. The semester break will not be applicable to Ph.D. scholars.

All students, except research scholars, are required to vacate the hostels during the semester break. Classes will resume on September 1, 2026, after the semester break.

Independence Day Observed

Sree Sankaracharya University of Sanskrit (SSUS), Kalady, observed India’s 80th Independence Day at its Main Campus on August 15 at 9 am. Prof. T. S. Lancelet, Registrar, hoisted the National Flag at a ceremony held in front of the Administrative Block. The ceremony was followed by the singing of Vande Mataram and the National Anthem. Prof. T. S. Lancelet presided. Syndicate members Adv. K. B. Sabu and Suni K. P. delivered Independence Day messages. Finance Officer Silvy Kodakkat, Professor-in-Charge of Examinations Dr. V. K. Bhavani, and Director of Students’ Services Dr. Lisha C. R. spoke.

SAY Exam Pass-outs Can Apply for Undergraduate Programmes

Students who have passed the Plus Two SAY examination can seek admission to vacant seats in the four-year undergraduate programmes and B.F.A. programme offered at the Main Campus, Kalady, and the Regional Campuses of Sree Sankaracharya University of Sanskrit.

Eligible candidates are required to appear before the respective Heads of Departments/Directors of the Regional Campuses at 11 a.m. on 19 August 2026, along with their original documents.

Integrated BA BEd Programme Launched at SSUS Kalady

Classes have commenced for the Integrated BA BEd Programme, introduced from the current academic year at the Main Campus, Kalady of Sree Sankaracharya University of Sanskrit.

Prof. T. S. Lancelet, Registrar inaugurated the newly introduced BA BEd. programme. The Integrated Teacher Education Programme (ITEP) has been launched with the approval of the National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE) and offers a total of 50 seats.

The programme is offered in the following subjects:
* Malayalam
* English
* Hindi
* History
* Sanskrit General
* Sanskrit Nyaya
* Sanskrit Sahitya
* Sanskrit Vedanta
* Sanskrit Vyakarana

Admission to the BA BEd programme was granted to students based on their scores in the National Common Entrance Test (NCET).

The inaugural function was held at the Language Block of the University’s Main Campus, Kalady. Prof. Abdul Nazar M C, Course Coordinator presided. Dr. Mohan B. Menon, former Deputy Vice-Chancellor of Wawasan Open University, Malaysia, delivered the keynote address. Dr. V. K. Bhavani, Dr. K. M. Sangamesan, Dr. Sijimol S., Dr. Dilish K., and Dr. P. Indu spoke.

SSUS INVITES APPLICATION FOR STUDENT COUNSELLOR

Sree Sankaracharya University of Sanskrit, Kalady, invites application for the post of Student Counsellor at its Main Campus, Kalady.

Eligibility:
* Postgraduate Degree in Psychology from a recognised University
* Two years of experience in counselling is desirable

Appointment Details:
* Appointment: On Contract Basis
* Monthly Remuneration: ₹25,000/-
* Age Limit: As per Government norms
* Statutory age relaxation will be applicable

Application Fee:
* General Category: ₹200/-
* SC/ST/PH Categories: ₹100/-
