These Centres are expected to take-up the vocational education to new levels and offer courses be

These Centres have to embed and follow the guiding principles of National Skill Qualification Frame work (NSQF), QPs, and NOSs for their programmes and should not focus on skilling alone but also develop entrepreneurship traits. Cochin University of Science and Technology (CUSAT) is the only University in the state which has been selected by University Grants Commission and has sanctioned four crore for establishing DDUKK. CUSAT aims at providing quality vocational education through DDUKK combining class room centered formal education and training with experience sharing of Industry practitioners and internships in industry and business houses. The focus is towards integrated knowledge acquisition and upgrading human skill towards creating a new league of employable youth. Teaching and training methodology of courses offered under DDUKK are designed accordingly. Many business firms have shown interest to sign MOUs with the centre for providing their expertise in administering courses and sharing resources to ensure and enhance the employability of the young graduates. DDUKK has initiated steps to develop collaborations with international experts to get their support in providing excellent skills development programmes in the Centre. This centre aims equally at knowledge acquisition and skills development for employment along with entrepreneurship skills development through its curriculum, in an innovative and flexible manner. The innovative programmes at DDUKK Cochin University provide a great opportunity for ‘skilling’ students with skill-based, job-oriented degrees under the title “M. The uniqueness of the degree is such that it has multiple exit points with job opportunity at each stage. The course has been designed to provide skill education with hands on experience by specifically defining the job role and providing necessary skills for it.

A Successful Start to a Promising Series! 🌟

Yesterday (15th Jan 2025), we kicked off a series of collaborative webinars between DDUKK CUSAT and the Indian Accounting Association, Kochi Branch.

The inaugural session, which attracted over 500 registrations from across 10 states, brought together a diverse audience of teachers, researchers, students, and business owners.

Prof Dr. Santhosh Kumar Sivadasan, Director of DDUKK CUSAT and President of the Indian Accounting Association, Kochi Branch, welcomed the participants.Prof.Dr.Gabriel Simon Thattil, Senior Vice President of the Indian Accounting Association, provided a comprehensive overview of the topic.

The keynote address was delivered by Dr. Smiju I S, Assistant Professor at the School of Management Studies, CUSAT, and a renowned expert in Information Systems and Artificial Intelligence. Dr. Smiju presented a captivating overview of how AI is transforming the world of finance, highlighting its applications in risk management, portfolio analysis, and beyond.

Participants particularly appreciated Dr. Smiju's insights into the social and ethical implications of AI in finance and found the presentation on the "Top Ten AI Tools in the area of Finance" extremely valuable.

A heartfelt thanks to Dr. Smiju I S for his insightful and enlightening talk. The session concluded with a Vote of Thanks proposed by Vishnu N S, Assistant Professor, Department of Commerce and Professional Studies, Rajagiri School of Social Sciences and Secretary, Indian Accounting Association, Kochi Branch.The webinar was moderated by Devi Nayar, Assistant Professor, DDUKK CUSAT.

🚀 Driving Innovation in Education at DDU KAUSHAL Kendra, CUSAT 🚀

We are thrilled to share the success of the one-day workshop organized by the Kerala State Higher Education Council, in collaboration with DDU KAUSHAL Kendra at CUSAT, focusing on the restructuring of the B. Voc. curriculum.

This dynamic event highlighted the importance of skill-based learning aimed to enhance the employability of graduates.

Chaired by the esteemed Dr. Rajan Varughese, Member Secretary of KSHEC, and inaugurated by Prof. Dr. M. Junaid Bushiri, Hon. Vice Chancellor of CUSAT, the workshop was a significant step towards aligning educational standards with industry needs.
We were honored to have Prof. Dr. Arun A. U., Registrar of CUSAT, Prof. Dr. Santosh Kumar S., Director of KAUSHAL Kendra, and Dr. Sudheendran K., Research Officer at KSHEC, among the distinguished attendees.

With over 100 faculty members from prominent universities and educational institutions across Kerala participating, the event was a powerhouse of innovative ideas and collaborative efforts. Together, we engaged in vibrant discussions and sessions aimed at transforming the curriculum to better prepare students for the future.
