Nawab Jassa Singh Ahluwalia Government College, erstwhile knowns as Randhir Government College, Kapurthala takes pride in being one of the oldest educational institutions of northen India. It was established as a Sanskrit Vidyalaya and named as Randhir College in the year of 1856 by Raja Randhir Singh.Affiliated to Calcutta University since 1877, it came to be associated in 1882 with the newly established Panjab University Lahore.

ਕੱਲੁ ਰਾਤ 12 ਵਜੇ ਮੋਗਾ ਜ਼ਿਲ੍ਹੇ ਦੇ ਪਿੰਡ ਲੰਗੇਆਣਾ ਨਵਾਂ ਦੇ ਖੇਤਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਮਿਗ-21 ਲੜਾਕੂ ਜਹਾਜ਼ ਕਰੈਸ਼ ਵਿੱਚ ਪਾਇਲਟ ਅਭਿਨਵ ਚੌਧਰੀ ਦੀ ਮੌਕੇ ਤੇ ਮੌਤ ਹੋ ਗਈ ਸੀ , ਇਸ ਇਨਸਾਨ ਨੇ ਪਿੰਡ ਵਾਲੇ ਤਾਂ ਬਚਾ ਲਏ , ਪਰ ਜਦ ਉਸ ਨੇ ਆਪ ਛਾਲ ਮਾਰੀ ਤਾ ਪੈਰਾਸ਼ੂਟ ਦਾ ਫਲੋਅ ਨਹੀਂ ਬਣਿਆ ਜਿਸ ਕਰਕੇ ਬੁਰੇ ਤਰੀਕੇ ਨਾਲ ਥੱਲੇ ਡਿੱਗਾ ਤੇ ਜਾਨ ਚਲੀ ਗਈ , !!

ਖਾਲਸਾ ਪੰਥ ਦੀ ਰਤਨਾਂ ਦੀ ਖਾਨ ਵਿੱਚੋਂ ਨਵਾਬ ਜੱਸਾ ਸਿੰਘ ਜੀ ਇਕ ਐਸਾ ਅਮੋਲਕ ਲਾਲ ਸੀ, ਜਿਸ ਦੇ ਨਾਮ ਪਰ ਖਾਲਸੇ ਦੀਆਂ ਆਉਣ ਵਾਲੀਆਂ ਨਸਲਾਂ ਰਹਿੰਦੀ ਦੁਨੀਆਂ ਤਕ ਮਾਣ ਕਰਿਆ ਕਰਨਗੀਆਂ। ਆਪ ਦੀਵਾਨਾਂ ਵਿਚ ਪ੍ਰਮਾਰਥ ਦਾ ਉੱਚ ਨਮੂਨਾ, ਮੈਦਾਨ ਜੰਗ ਵਿਚ ਅਜਿਤ ਜੋਧਾ, ਆਪਦਾ ਸਮੇਂ ਨਿਡਰ ਸੂਰਮਾ ਸਨ, ਜੋ ਵੰਡ ਛਕਣ ਤੇ ਗੁਰਧਾਮਾਂ ਦੀ ਸੇਵਾ ਵਿਚ ਆਪਣਾ ਸਰਬੰਸ ਤੱਕ ਲੱਗਾ ਦੇਣ ਵਿਚ ਆਪਣੀ ਵੱਡੀ ਖੁਸ਼ੀ ਸਮਝਦੇ ਸਨ।
