🎉 GCEK Constitutes Gymkhana Council 2026–27

The Government College of Engineering, Karad (GCEK) has constituted its Gymkhana Council for the Academic Year 2026–27 to promote sports, cultural, co-curricular and student activities on campus.

The council will function under the guidance of Dr. S. J. Wagh, Principal & President, Gymkhana Council; Dr. Sunil K. Patil, Deputy Director; and Dr. Krishna N. Alsundakar, Dean Student Welfare & Vice President, Gymkhana Council.

🌟 Mr. Shambhuraje Shahaji Bhosale has been appointed as the Gymkhana Secretary for 2026–27.

The council comprises student representatives for sports, cultural activities, NCC, NSS, clubs, magazine, hostel and other student activities.

🌿 Building Safer Workplaces through Positive Work Culture | POSH Awareness Programme at GCE Karad

The Women's Internal Committee (WIC) of Government College of Engineering, Karad successfully organized an awareness programme on "Building Safer Workplaces through Positive Work Culture" to promote awareness of the Prevention of Sexual Harassment (POSH) Act and foster a safe, respectful, and inclusive workplace.

The programme was conducted under the guidance of Hon. Principal Dr. S. J. Wagh and was chaired by Prof. U. V. Kanade, Chairman of the Women's Internal Committee.

The keynote session was delivered by Advocate Smt. Divya Mhoparekar, who shared valuable insights into the provisions of the POSH Act, employees' rights and responsibilities, complaint redressal mechanisms, and the importance of creating a workplace founded on dignity, equality, and mutual respect.

The programme was efficiently coordinated by Mrs. P. A. Rawate, with active support from all members of the Women's Internal Committee. Faculty members, staff, and students enthusiastically participated in the interactive session, reflecting the institute's commitment to promoting gender sensitivity, workplace ethics, and an empowering campus environment.

Honoring a Legacy of Leadership & Academic Service

Government College of Engineering, Karad (GCEK) hosted a grand Retirement Felicitation Ceremony to honor Dr. D. V. Jadhav, Joint Director, Directorate of Technical Education (DTE) Regional Office, Pune, celebrating his extraordinary career and visionary leadership.

During the ceremony, Dr. D. V. Jadhav and his wife were felicitated with a traditional shawl, srifal, floral bouquet, memento, and a citation (Manpatra) in deep appreciation of his distinguished service.

Building the future of tech, one line of code at a time!
The Centre of Excellence (COE) at GCE Karad recently wrapped up a high-energy, 15-day Internship Training Program for 43 brilliant first-year B.Tech (CSE & AI&DS) students from Arvind Gavali College of Engineering, Satara!
From June 22 to July 10, these students dove deep into full-stack web technologies and data management, wrapping up the program with full-scale Mini Project Developments!
What they mastered:
- Python Programming
- Front-End (HTML, CSS, JS) & Back-End Web Dev
- MS SQL & Database Design & Integration
- Mini Project Development using Web Technologies
The internship was successfully conducted by Dr. Gurunath V. Shinde, Centre of Excellence (COE), Government College of Engineering, Karad, in collaboration with Mr. Tushar Shende, Training & Placement Officer, Arvind Gavali College of Engineering, Satara.
Special appreciation goes to our coordinators Prof. Mrs. Sonali Patil, Mr. Shubham Chavan, Ms. Shreeyasha Jagdale, and Ms. Shruti Dange for their dedicated support in conducting the program smoothly.

आज दिनांक ०६ जुलै २०२६ रोजी शासकीय अभियांत्रिकी महाविद्यालय, कराड येथे राष्ट्रीय सेवा योजने (NSS) अंतर्गत वृक्षारोपण कार्यक्रमाचे आयोजन करण्यात आले. वृक्षारोपण करून वनमहोत्सव २०२६ मोठ्या उत्साहात साजरा करण्यात आला. 🌳

Proud moment at Government College of Engineering, Karad! We recently celebrated the grand reveal of the IJTE Special Journal Publication, featuring selected research papers from ICCETAC-2025.

We had the privilege of serving as the General Chair Coordinator of the conference and as a member of the Editorial Team for this prestigious international initiative.

Jointly organized by the Department of Information Technology and Master of Computer Application (GCE Karad), in collaboration with Government College of Engineering, Kolhapur, the AICTE ATAL-VAANI sponsored International Conference on “Cutting Edge Technologies in Advanced Computing (ICCETAC-2025)” was successfully held on November 14–15, 2025.

Key Highlights:

51 research papers presented at the conference have been officially published in the Indian Journal of Technical Education (IJTE)—a highly reputed, UGC-CARE listed journal associated with the Indian Society for Technical Education (ISTE).

The unveiling ceremony marks a significant milestone in our institute’s ongoing journey toward academic and research excellence.

Coordinating with authors, reviewers, academicians, and the organizing committee throughout this end-to-end publication journey was a truly enriching experience.
